Proxmox VE 4.0 zeigt erste Betaversion mit interessanten Neuerungen
Die Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH hat eine erste Beta von Version 4.0 seiner Open-Source Servervirtualisierungslösung Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) für Tester zugänglich gemacht.

HA Simulator
Die beiden neuen Verwaltungswerkzeuge tragen die Bezeichnung »Proxmox VE HA Manager« und »Proxmox HA Simulator«. Das Kürzel HA steht hierbei für High Availability, also Hochverfügbarkeit. Der HA Manager kommt im Proxmox VE High Availability Cluster zum Einsatz, der zur Definition hochverfügbarer virtueller Maschinen dient. Dem HA Manager fällt dabei das Monitoring und Ressourcen-Management zu. Die Eigenentwicklung, die das Aufsetzen von HA-Umgebungen per GUI unterstützt, ersetzt den bisher verwendeten RG-Manager von Red Hat.

Hinzufügen einer VM
Proxmox Virtual Environment (Proxmox VE) ist eine freie Virtualisierungsplattform, die den Linux-Hypervisor KVM und die Container-Technologie LXC miteinander kombiniert, um das Aufsetzen von hochverfügbaren Clustern zu unterstützen. Die HA-Unterstützung wird auf der Basis von Red Hat Cluster und der Corosync Cluster Engine[6] realisiert und erlaubt sowohl die Virtualisierung von Linux- als auch von Windows-Umgebungen. Proxmox unterliegt der GNU Affero General Public License 3 (AGPL v3) und ist kostenfrei verfügbar. Die Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH, die in diesem Jahr zehnjähriges Bestehen feiert, bietet Supportleistungen ab 59 Euro pro Jahr und CPU an. Die Betaversion kann zum Testen vom Projektserver[7] heruntergeladen werden.
