At WebFX, we’re a global team where everyone is encouraged to be fully themselves and to continually strive to achieve their personal best. Our promotions are merit-based to ensure equality. Each department at WebFX has a progression path with clear cut SMART goals at every career level, providing transparency for the team on how they can achieve their next promotion.

Because of our transparency in progression, women make up more than 50% of our leadership positions in the company. This is unfortunately rare for our industry, where only 11% of executive positions in Silicon Valley companies are held by women. We’re proud to be making a positive impact on these statistics with our majority female-led company.

We lead with solutions

The majority of STEM jobs require candidates to have previous experience, creating a challenge for recent college graduates looking forward to getting a career in their field. At WebFX, 50% of our technology or STEM positions require no prior experience to help level the playing field for women and minorities who may not have been provided prior career opportunities in these fields. We use a TopGrading Hiring methodology where all interviews are score based focused solely on skills and qualities pertaining to the role in which the individual is applying.

There are many enthusiastic new graduates out in the world who are eager and ready to dive right into their STEM careers. We’re confident in our training and leadership to help show them the way as they gain experience in our industry.

We provide standardized career training programs for each of our departments. All new hires undergo our Bootcamp training program. After the completion of Bootcamp, we continue to provide career development training and ongoing professional development opportunities for our team.

In 2014 we set out on a mission to improve the lives of 10,000 people across the globe by 2024, founding our FXBuilds program. We’ve since then positively impacted the lives of over 7,000 people worldwide (as of 2020!)

Made possible thanks to the successes of our team, our FXBuilds program allows us to improve the lives of those around the world who may lack education, shelter, clean drinking water, vaccines, and other basic human privileges. As part of the program, we partner with organizations who share our mission, such as The Water Project, Forgotten Voices, Empower Playgrounds and Pencils of Promise, making a $25,000 contribution with every new project we embark on. With every project, we send two FXambassadors to the communities impacted where they get to experience firsthand why these initiatives are so important.

We support our local community through our team’s successes through our #SeeingtheFX award which is based on the impact that we have for our clients based on their results and the impact that has on the people who work there. Oftentimes this means the ability for them to hire additional team members and open up new business or facility locations which our team is so proud of! In support of their great work, we donate meals to the Bethesda Mission, that our team even enjoys showing up to serve!

We support our teams' varied endeavors to make the world a better place with our 150% charity match for education, equality-driven and other non profit organizations.

We are avid ongoing learners.

Students sitting in classrooms today are our future. We’re taking an interest, locally, in investing in them as an effort to help close the gap in unequal access to education and technology.

On average, teachers spend $740 out of their own pockets on classroom supplies each year. In many cases families are responsible for buying their childrens’ personal school supplies, leaving many low income families with a gap in these resources . We participate in the Young Professionals of Color Harrisburg (YPOC HBG) classroom adoption program where we adopt a classroom, supporting teachers and students in a classroom located in the city of our office headquarters.

We also make an annual donation to The LGBT Center of Central PA to cover the cost of 5 training sessions held within local K - 12 schools, providing ongoing education for teachers and staff on diversity and inclusion.

We're grateful for the opportunities that our industry has provided for us and our growing FXFamily. With that we’re committed to help build the skillsets of the future in our local community so that they too can take advantage of these opportunities. Twice a year with STEM-FX, we invite our local students to visit our Harrisburg office for a tour and shadowing experience to learn more about careers in digital marketing & technology. 30 students who are interested in learning more are invited to then sign up to receive access to recognized technology training courses that we purchase for them. After completing the course, they are given $500 to be used towards the purchase of further education or a tech device. Learning has a compound effect on those with the resources to take advantage of it and our goal through investing $15,000+/year into this program is to help in some way to provide more equal access to it.

Did we mention how much we love what we do? Prospective college students of STEM are encouraged to attend WebFX-U events where students can learn about careers and opportunities in Tech, Programming, Digital Marketing and other services that WebFX provides. We also go directly to students attending colleges and universities in the Central Pennsylvania region where we sponsor and speak to various minority groups and student led organizations to provide education on skills and career opportunities in digital technologies.

We host two free local community trainings a year on tech and digital marketing skills and certainly welcome anyone interested in learning more, regardless of their level of education, to attend.

Our team inspires us! Thanks to our many team members who have contributed recommendations for their most meaningful resources on Black Lives Matter movement, allyship, and countering bias, we’ve curated them all into an FXCitizen training program for our team. This ensures access to these resources for the entire team to learn about the inequality and injustice that exists in our world and what we can do as a team and individuals to create and maintain a culture of belonging and embracing diversity.
