Lots o Rando

How about a big ol dose of random for this Wednesday?

1. Floyd LOVES fall. Like immediate drool when we walk outside.

Which translates into walking home with leaves stuck to his drool covered ears.

He's also on a personal mission to smell all the leaves in the neighborhood.

As in, every single one of them. 

2.  We have some really fun things going on this weekend.

So fun that I'd prefer them to be here now and just skip the rest of the work week.

3. Mister made sure my taco soup was extra festive last night.

 This soup is the perfect dinner for handing out candy to trick or treaters on Halloween.

4. I am in the midst of a few good books that I am excited to review for you guys soon! 

Let's just say I've frequented the library a lot lately.  Does anyone else love that they can reserve books online and just pop in and pick them up for is that just my dorkish self?

5. Pioneer Woman's newest book arrived on my doorstep yesterday.  It's chock full of holiday recipes and I can not wait to devour it...and devour every single recipe in it. 

She is coming to Cincinnati in November and I may or may not already have my ticket.  Now the question is do I try to take Floyd to meet her or not?

What good is a Wednesday without some random?

1. I ordered a shower curtain and I'm hoping it should be here tomorrow.

Fingers crossed for getting some painting done this weekend.

Which one did I choose?!

2.  I had to get two fillings replaced on Monday.

I HATE dental work but I survived, barely.

The S'mores blizzard from DQ helped.

3.  Did you enter to win your pup a new collar yesterday??

4. We had this on Monday and this on Tuesday...Mister and I are in love with both.

It's safe to say they will be entered in our weekly rotation.

Cheap, easy, clean and delicious...YES.  

5.  I have really been enjoying running lately.

I honestly can't believe it myself but I can't ignore my urge to get out run.

It has taken almost a year for me to love it as much as I do but I've finally pushed past the hating it point.

I was thinking about a post of my new workout routines and details...are we interested in that?

6. There may or may not (read:may) be another giveaway planned for tomorrow...

Random Wednesday: July Edition

Ready for a dose of random?

1.I told you guys on Monday I picked up a few bargains while shopping on Saturday.

Well two of those items included NEON green shirts. Never in my life have I worn that color but now I can't stop.  Just can't. 

 They are MUCH brighter in person.  Like need your sunglasses bright.

I also picked up a pineapple mango candle from Bath and Body Works for $8.50 that I can't stop burning. It smells like vacation in our house and I'm not mad about it.

2. We are getting (in the nearish future) some new carpet in the house.  I brought home some sample boards to show Mister.  We had Floyd test them out as well.  You know, it's important what they feel like on his paws. 

He took his job seriously and I think I may be out of my actual job as a designer soon because he took his job that seriously.  He literally kept walking back and forth between the samples and after much deliberation, kept sitting on the same one.

3. Recently Carmel posted about this amazing app (Printicular) that prints your Instagram photos directly to Walgreens.  I immediately downloaded the app (it's free!) and ordered some 4x4 photos as fast as my fingers could move! And to boot, the prints are cheap! I had about 20 photos printed for about $6.

5. Who is ready for the 4th (and not working for a few days)?! I know we are!
I made these cups for the shenanigans that are sure to ensue this weekend.

Random and WIW Wednesday

I haven't done a WIWW lately and since Mister and I got dressed up for our date on Friday I had him snap a few pictures for me!

In other news...

1. I can't get enough of Hunter Haye's song 'Wanted'.  Do we know how old he is? His picture on my Pandora makes him look like he is about 12 and it's been weirding me out how much I like his music.

2.  While I'm not belting it out to Hunter I've been listening (yes a book on cd because I'm a dork) to 'Broken Harbor' per Anne's recommendation.  Even though I'm only a few chapters in, I can tell this is going to be a good one.  And speaking of book recommendations, if you need any check out Anne's blog or Tara's- they have been my go to's lately.  I also just joined Goodreads and have been trying to navigate it. Random Wednesday #3

I can't get enough of these Random Wednesday linkups with Shanna.

I love all things random and finding great new blogs!

1. My birthday is New Years Eve and I am already scoping out dresses.
I mean it's my birthday and NYE, I need a cute dress...that has to be a law somewhere.
I was thinking of using Rent the Runway.

Have you used them and if so, did you have a good experience?

I do know that they will send you 2 sizes of the same dress and I really like that feature.

These are some of my favorites so far.

2. I am in need of new hairspray.

I have heard great things about Elnett but have not been able to part with $13 for hairspray.
Is it worth it?
I'm secretly hoping for an Ulta coupon is this weekends paper (yes I get a Sunday paper, yes I am 90 and yes I cut coupons every Sunday once it hits my driveway) and I'll at least try out the travel size.
Besides, Elnett, any other recommendations for awesome, volume keeping hairspray?

3. I could really use a (week)day at home to get life and our house in order.
I feel like every night is a whirlwind of walking Floyd, working out, dinner, making lunches, maybe crafting, blogging and watching our shows.
And then I fall asleep on the couch.
And the house doesn't get clean and my to do list continues to grow and nothing gets crossed off.  And I LOVE crossing things off my to do list.
Maybe I just need a maid...?

4. I am thinking of braving Target early Saturday morning for the Neiman Marcus debut.
I am also thinking that I may want to sleep in for once.
I just wonder how crazy it will be and if there will be a line at 8am...
What to do what to do?
I missed out on the Missoni debut and am still kicking myself over it.

5. Monday night Floyd graciously woke us up in the middle of the night by HOWLING at the top of his lungs at something outside.
I have NO idea what he heard or saw but I've also never heard him howl that loud.
We were not happy campers.
He continued to huff and puff once he got back in bed.

He is quite tough, you know. 

6. The handle on my car door broke off over the weekend.

 Getting into my car has become quite interesting.
Funny thing is, the Mister used to have the exact same car (same year and model and almost same color, isn't that cute ; ) ) and the exact same thing happened to his car.
No worries, a new handle has been shipped out.
Until then I'm that crazy girl holding 47 things and trying to pry her door open.

Randomness

Hey hey hey friends
I feel like I have a lot of random tidbits to fill you in on
So here we go

1. I ran a 5k
and it wasn't the one I was training for

  Say what?!
Well technically I ran/walked it but ran more than I walked!

Bethany texted me last Tuesday night and said she was 

running one the next morning (on the 4th).
After hemming and hawing about it I decided to do it 

and that it would be good practice.

And, it actually went pretty well!
I think it would have gone a lot smoother if it hadn't been SO humid.
But I finished in 31:49 and I was pretty happy with that.

 I was able to cross it off my list!

Next stop, the Color Run!

2. New Sidebar Features
Have you noticed anything new on my sidebar??
I have been wanting an updated 'about me' section
and social media icons for awhile now.

 I contacted House '09 (who originally  did my blog redesign)
 and had them whip up some awesome new features!

I really like the way they turned out, don't you??
I highly recommend House '09 if you are looking for any updates for your blog!

3.  Lunch Blates
I have 2 blogger lunches this week!
First I'm meeting Anne for lunch today at Chipotle.
(come to Mama salty lime chips)

And Saturday I'm having lunch and poolin it with Lauren and Liz!

4. Lack of Floyd

I got some flack yesterday for no pictures of Floyd.
He was around last weekend but it was just too
hot for him to be outside much so I didn't snap any pictures of him.

5. Bookworm-out of control

I realized today that I am listening to 2 different books on tape

(1 while I run and 1 in the car).
I also have 2 other books started and my book club
 book on hold at the library.

6. Big Brother

The only thing getting me through the wait until the Bachelorette season finale
(July 22nd are you kidding me??)

is that Big Brother starts TOMORROW!

 I love me some Big Brother

and the fact that it is on 3 nights a week makes it even better!
And Breaking Bad starts this weekend too! 

I think that is enough randomness for one day!
