HISTORIC LONG ISLAND EBO HILL MANSION DESTROYED

EBO HILL MANSION NBC NEWS -- A historic estate on Long Island was destroyed in a fire Monday night, according to authorities. The Ebo Hill mansion, on Edgewood Avenue in Smithtown, was gutted in the blaze about 8 p.m., officials said. A cause for the blaze wasn't immediately available, but the fire comes just weeks after a prospective owner told Newsday that he was going to restore the 11,000-square-foot home to "look like it did the day it was new." It's not clear if the sale had been completed.

There will be tasting samples of his signature dish (along with local wine) prepared from his newest release, The Poetry of Cooking. According to charity and governmental agencies, the number of Long Islanders who volunteer for the myriad needs in the two counties has dwindled significantly since superstorm Sandy in 2012. Officials spoke at the local chapter of the American Red Cross in Mineola on Tuesday morning, urging residents to step up and volunteer. “There is a need for 4,000 more volunteers in the region,” said Liz Barker, the acting CEO for American Red Cross of Long Island. The chapter covers Nassau, Suffolk, New York City and the lower Hudson Valley. On Long Island, the American Red Cross has about 1,100 volunteers, she said. The organization has positions from crisis team volunteers, to those who work behind the scenes to package, transport and help with paperwork. Barker said volunteers have been on the scenes at plane crashes, house fires, blizzards and floods, “helping...

This seems to be the new wave out in my old stomping grounds Nassau County. MARILYN MONROE IN LONG ISLAND! A Tribute was held on the 50th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroes Death at Maliblue in Lido Beach, Long Island. Marilyn Monroe spent lots of time and summers on Long Island. Butch Yamali, President of the Dover Catering Group attended this event.  A candlelight vigil was held by fans and local residents on the famed beach.
