Emergency Band Meeting! SECOND UPDATE!!

Tix were basically sold out in less than 10 min! Good grief. I was online clicking refresh with one hand and on my phone pushing redial with the other from 9:50 AM. I finally got through online at 10:06 and ended up in the 2nd balcony. Just glad to be in the building. Vanwarmer was also successful - anyone else??

I just tried again and there are a few random seats here and there if you only try for 2 or less...

Update on the tix for the Flight of the Conchords. Price is $37.50 + Fees and go on sale tomorrow morning at 10AM at this link here: http://www.arttix.org/tickets/production.aspx?performanceNumber=3629

or at the box offices of Capitol Theatre, Rose Wagner or Abravanel Hall. If there is enough interest we will try and put together a Skog Blog Meet n Greet for the day of the show.

Emergency Band Meeting!

This morning started out like most mornings. I did the '3 S's,' made some Yerba, drove to work, fired up the computer, logged into MSN Messenger and got ready for another day of fun on the job. I was immediately messaged by plugged in Skog Blog Reader, Vanwarmer, a guy who 'knows people that know things' and he shared the most beautiful news that mine ears had heard since the Ben Folds Five reunion - The Flight of the Conchords are coming to town! Here is some sort of proof:

Tix go on sale this Friday. Stay tuned for more developments.

The Twelve Days of Christmas - # 7

Song of the Year - # 7

Pretty Amazing Grace - Neil Diamond

I just heard this song live, in person about 2 hours ago. It was quite a Skog Blog reunion. Wheels, Corbie, Flank Steak and VanWarmer were all in attendance. In case you are wondering, yes Neil has still got it. This song is from his most recent album Home Before Dark, which as spectacular as it was, didn't quite resonate with me as much as his previous album 12 Songs. This is Older Neil at his finest.

Album of the Year - # 7

Flight of the Conchords - Flight of the Conchords

I have owned comedy, novelty type albums in the past. They are usually funny for about 1 month and then they gather dust on your shelf for the rest of their existence. Not only are these songs hilarious they hold up on their own as quality songs. If you didn't listen to the lyrics you would just assume they were Top 40 songs from whatever genre the Conchords happen to be parodying during any given song. The only reason this album isn't higher on my list is that there are 2 stupid songs on this album and the Conchords have many other songs in their catalog that could have been released and made this album even more of a masterpiece. Skog Blog readers should have already seen enough of these videos so rather than repeat them I will link to the Season 2 Premiere of their television series.

More Housekeeping

It's been nearly a week since I put something new up on my blog and I can't believe it. I think I have finally recovered from my life changing Ben Folds Five extravaganza and I will get back on my regular schedule starting tomorrow.

In the mean time let's start the week off right with some musical humor. I think everyone is a bit stressed out so here are a few things that will hopefully at least give you a chuckle. I will just leave it with the current masters of musical comedy: Flight of the Conchords.
