1987 Kawasaki GPZ1000RX. Lots of money spent.

Something Classic. Something Different.

Toward the end 2010 and early 2011. the previous owner spent a lot of money with a long list of work being done including:

New Powder Coating Wheels

New Brake Discs Front/Rear

Brake Calipers fully rebuilt and repainted with new pads

New Braided Brake lines and connectors

New braided engine lines

New chain and sprockets

Carbs stripped. rebuilt. set-up

New fuel tap assy

New screen

New alloy fairing kit

Swing arm repainted

New battery this year

Fork Seals replaced

Repainted Fairing with new decals

New engine bolts

New fairing fasteners

Many other new ancillary bits to complete the build

New mirrors

New bar grips

Motad N-eta exhaust system

Two Keys

Tyres have loads of life

Chain/Sprockets/Brakes etc all very good

All clocks and electrics work

Classic Insurance cheap as chips.   

Starts. runs and rides well

The previous owner dropped bike off the stand and scuffed the fairing in a few places. with some pressure cracks around the right mirror. Damage is purely cosmetic and only to the right side of fairing. The reason he sold the bike is he lost confidence after that.

I?ˆ™ve just been riding and enjoying the bike with the scuffs for the past two years of ownership. The intention was to get the cosmetics re-finished. but with a young family time is limited. and I would rather ride out when I get spare time than spend that time fixing cosmetics.

Minor repair to silencer sleeve - done over a year ago. and has been fine ever since.

A quick add up of all the work done and parts replaced is easily more than the value of the bike. but that?ˆ™s the way it goes. Could strip and sell the parts for more than the complete bike will sell at.

Viewing not a problem.  Maybe a good winter project for someone to bring back to former glory.
