The Book of Boba Fett Character Cookies

So if you ever wondered what happened to Star War's Boba Fett after he fell into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi - wonder no more!  Disney+ is now streaming The Book of Boba with all your questions answered - I think!

To celebrate one of the most famous bounty hunters, I had to make some cookies.  This is my most fav no spread sugar cookie recipe from In Katrina's Kitchen.  It works great every time I make character cookies.  I used a combination of natural food colors and also food gels for tinting.

Then just use it like play-do to make The Book of Boba characters.  I used google pics as a guide.

These are pre-baked cookies.  No need to chill the dough.

And after baking for about 8-10 minutes.  Watch the cookies closely so they don't brown too much.

So far the live action series is great and brings back some old favs as well as some new characters.  I included here Boba Fett (of course!), Fennac Shand (his partner in crime/confidant/hired assassin), one of the Tusken Raiders (who seem to play a big part in Boba's arc), a Gamorrean guard, Max Rebo (still jamming on his keyboard), the Wookie Krrsantan, 8D8 Droid, and my new favs The Hutt Twins!

We can't wait to see how they wrap it up and what's in store for our fav Boba.

Happy Chinese New Year - Year of the Tiger Mini Cakes

Chinese New Year Tiger Cupcakes

Happy 2022!

I know it's been 2022 for almost a month, but life keeps getting in the way and the posts are suffering.  Sorry!

But I'm trying to get back into posting for the blog - because I really do enjoy it.  So first up for this year are some mini cakes for Chinese New Year.

2022 has got to be a better year for all, I mean it's the Year of the Tiger!!

The cute little tiger toppers are made from white chocolate fudge dipped mini Oreos.  I melted some orange candy melt (well I didn't have orange so went old school art class and melted yellow with a little red).

Paint on the orange to cover the Oreo

Then paint on melted black candy melts for the stripes.  Use the orange and make some tiny tiger ears.

The nose is a cute heart sprinkle colored black with an edible food writer.  Ears are attached with more of the orange candy melt with a little white added for detail. Face detail is more melted black candy melt drawn on with a toothpick.

I botched a chocolate bundt cake as it wouldn't release from the pan (boo!) but I used the cake to cut out mini cakes for this project and the rest I'm saving for cake pops!

Add some buttercream frosting that I then sprayed red with some Wilton's color spray

I also added some gold color spray at the end to make it more Chinese New Year colors

Super cute mini tiger cakes for the Chinese Lunar New Year were gobbled up already!
