My sweet Handsome Husband is a complete sucker for home made Valentines.  He gets the cutest goofy grin on his face each year when I give him what I've created.

It's Party Time! Tuesdays with a Twist Link Party

Our news this week...  Our little greenhouse got some attention this weekend.  I refreshed my largest planter with rabbit litter, leaves, dirt from the garden and then potting soil.  Each layer was watered thoroughly.  Then came the seeds!  I planted radishes, carrots and chard.  We are looking forward to the first salad of Spring!

Home made Scented Valentines

Valentine's Day, the celebration of love and affection.

This year, I wanted my Valentines to be simple, affordable, rustic AND scented.  Easy peasy, right?  ;-)  My project began by using an idea from The Winter Holiday Link Party Features.

Travels with Marci and Other Passengers

My full time job (besides blogging) has me on the road quite a bit these days, regularly buzzing around eight different counties here in Arkansas.  I am so very blessed to live in a beautiful area.  When something catches my eye, I snap a picture or two with my phone.  Let me begin by saying this is not a post about animals being left in hot cars.  These shots were taken on mild, overcast days.  Being a dog lover who is in and out of parking lots, of course I notice who might be in the car next to me.  'So many cute faces!

Maybe We should talk about Sweet Tea?

In my interview at Grammy's Grid, I mention my favorite beverage is Sweet Tea.  There's also a question about my first blog post, which happens to be My Recipe for Sweet Tea.

So, there's a little trick to it.  Some people think you just add sugar.  That's not it at all.  First the sugar is melted into the water to make a simple syrup and then you add the tea.

Hey, Party People! It's Tuesdays with a Twist

Our news this week...  I rescued a little white hen.  The poor thing was on the side of the road a few blocks from a processing plant.  I whipped into a side street and went back to her.  She was so cold and scared, she didn't even try to run or struggle.  Her right leg was scuffed and swollen so I wasn't sure if she would make it.  So far, she's doing well, living in my green house until her leg can heal.  I've named her Halli.

We spent a weekend at Big Cedar Lodge near Branson in December.  Here is the view at sunset.

We Have a Winner!! Congrats to...

Gardening is one of my favorite pastimes.  I love the feel of dirt in my hands.  It's wonderful to watch the plants grow and change each day.  We have a greenhouse and vegetable garden.  Part of our yard is specifically for attracting native birds while another area is an open invitation to butterflies.  Plants that attract butterflies are also helpful to bees and other pollinators.

Our news this week...  Handsome Husband asked for pie.  There's something about gloomy weather that makes baking even better.  My kitchen has really gotten a workout!  Chicken Enchiladas were already on the menu, so the oven was on most of the weekend.  I made both vanilla cream and lemon meringue pies.  That sweet man I married is one happy fellow!
