Simple Birthday Wishes for FF0062

Hello and Happy Friday! Time for a brand new Festive Friday ChallengeFor #FF0062, our festivity is National Simplicity Day, which is coming up July 12th. Our Inspo List features 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE (or more) of the items in your project and link up to the challenge! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the National Orange Blossom Day – at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with some fun and interesting ideas to inspire your creativity.
My Inspo List Picks: CAS Design - Single Image - Stitching - Birthday Theme

Although I do love a card with lots of layers and details, sometimes “less is more”. I’ve really been trying to challenge myself to create more Clean-and-Simple (CAS) cards recently. I just love the simple, uncluttered design and the fact that they are easy-peasy to pop in the mail.
Color Combo:

I’m a little obsessed with the Paying with Patterns Designer Series Paper lately. There is something about the mix of colors and patterns that are so perfect together. This striped pattern instantly caught my eye for this card. I also added a little texture to the Whisper White layer and of course had to pop on a rio of rhinestones to bling things up a bit. It’s tough to see in the photos, but I also added some Wink of Stella to the heart for a little added sparkle and shine
The layout for my card was inspired by the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. I always look forward to their sketch challenges, especially for Clean and Simple cards and this one immediately inspired me for this birthday card.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Purple Posy Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper - 2-1/4” x 4-3/4”
  • Purple Posy Cardstock - scrap to die cut heart from the Stitched Be Mine Dies, add Clear Wonk of Stella Glitter Brush to center heart for sparkly detail
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to die cut stitched Banner from Tasteful Labels Dies, stamp sentiment from Special Someone stamp set in Night of Navy ink
  • Add three rhinestones to card front
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”, on bottom right corner stamp balloon string in Night of Navy ink and heart balloon in Coastal Cabana ink (images from Special Someone stamp set)
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 3/4” x 5-1/4"
Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a little strip of DSP and a simple stamped balloon to keep the continuity from the front of the card.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing - Box of Sunshine

Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! I’m super-excited to be joining this awesome group of stampers for the first time this month. Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for visiting today!
We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators who love to share alternative project ideas for Paper Pumpkin, the monthly One Stop Box from Stampin’ Up! Today we are sharing ideas from the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin - Box of Sunshine! This kit is truly one of my favorites.
My alternative projects feature a fun fold card and a treat box which can hold a variety of little goodies to spread some sunshine to the recipient.
The particular fun/fancy fold card is called either a pop-up card or a shelf card, depending on where you look. What I love about this particular style of card is that is has that “Wow-Factor” but still folds flat to mail.
For this card, I used the following components in the Paper Pumpkin Box:
  • Die cut lemons and leaves
  • Polka dot sticker strip
  • Adhesive backed sequins
  • Box of Sunshine stamp set
  • Basic Black Ink Spot
  • Stampin Dimensionals
I added in a few other items, like cardstock, designer series paper, a punch, an embossing folder and some additional adhesive to show how you can step-up your Paper Pumpkin just a little more. I have a list of the supplies I used at the end of this post.
Want the measurements for this card and the coordinating treat box? Click HERE for the PDF tutorial.
I created the coordinating gift box around one of the polka-dot stickers from the Paper Pumpkin Box. The box itself comes together really easily and has an open top, which would work for a variety of different treats. For this box, I filled a 6” x 8” Cello Bag with some Werther’s Original candies. I filled one side of the bag and then folded the other side over to make it a little smaller to fit into the box, then tied it closed with some ribbon. You can fit about 16-20 pieces of candy in the bag to fit comfortably in the box.
In addition to the kit components, I added some cardstock, ribbon and the cello bag. Everything else was in the Paper Pumpkin box!

Again, you can get the measurements for this box and the coordinating fun fold card by clicking HERE for the free PDF.
Lastly, since I mentioned using additional cardstock, here are my cards from the kit with a couple additional layers. I had a fun crafting day with a friend over the weekend and put these together while we were chatting away. What I love about Paper Pumpkin is that you can create your projects YOUR way. Paper Pumpkin is truly for every stamper, whether you are a beginner or more of an avid stamper.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today! From here you can hop along to visit Audra Monk. You are going to love her beautiful projects! Please make sure to stop by and visit everyone on the Blog Hop to see their amazing creative inspiration. Happy stamping, friends!
