December 2019 - Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for December! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all over the world sharing our love of stamping. We are all part of Kylie Bertucci’s training group where we are having a great time learning and growing our Stampin’ Up!® businesses. If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, welcome! My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in the United States. I’m so glad you stopped by today!

You may be starting here or have arrived from another blog - either way, you can find the link list of all of the participants at the bottom of this post. Happy Hopping!
My card for the Blog Hop is a sneak peek of two new bundles of stamps and dies coming up in the January-June Mini Catalog from Stampin’ Up!®. The Painted Poppies Bundle features  gorgeous line-art images with watercolor effects. The Peaceful Moments Bundle coordinates with bold floral die-cut images and sentiments perfect for so many occasions. In this suite of products, there is also coordinating Designer Series Paper, sequins, seam binding and decorative elements. This is one of my favorite new product suites and it will be available to order starting January 3, 2020

Color Combo:

The big, bold poppy dies are AWESOME! They really have a wow-factor, don’t they? I cut the solid poppies in Poppy Parade Cardstock and the more detailed poppies in Calypso Coral Cardstock. To adhere them together, I applied liquid glue to the back the detailed poppy by applying the glue to a piece of a Stampin’ Sponge and dabbing it lightly on the back of the die cut. using the sponge is great way to avoid adding TOO much glue straight from the bottle, which can often get a bit messy on a detailed image like this one. I did the same to layer the leaf dies together.

For the background, I stamped the two “splotchy” (I probably could have used a better word) images on the Pool Party Cardstock in Pool Party Ink for some added detail to highlight the flowers. I felt like the background needed a little more texture, so I used the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder on the Pool Party Cardstock. I use that Subtle 3D Embossing Folder a LOT! I think it is a must-have for every craft room.
Because everything is more fun when you add a little sparkle, I used Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the Poppy Parade poppies along with the centers of the flowers. It’s tough to capture all of the shimmer goodness in photos but they really look fabulous in-person.

Card Measurements:
  • Poppy Parade Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Basic Black Cardstock - 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Pool Party Cardstock (stamped with image from Painted Poppies stamp set and embossed with Subtle 3D Embossing Folder) - 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Scraps of Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Basic Black and Whisper White Cardstock for die cut images
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 5-1/4” x 4”
Finally, a look at the inside of the card using a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and poppy image from the  from the Painted Poppies stamp set. I colored in the image using Old Olive and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Christmas Layers for PP471

Hello and Happy Sunday to you!
It’s time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, LeAnne is hosing our LAST challenge of 2019
with this beautiful Color Challenge:
Seaside Spray and Crumb Cake are such a pretty color combo together, but adding the silver just makes them pop! So pretty!

I used the Christmas Layers Dies to dress up the background. I die-cut two of the “starry” images in Silver Foil and adhered them to the Seaside Spray layer. With intricate dies like these, I find it is best to use a Stamping Sponge and liquid glue to dab some adhesive on the back of the die-cut images. Use less glue than you will think you need on the sponge. A little goes a long way. You can always add more if you need it, but you can’t take it away.
After I adhered the die-cut “stars”, I colored-in the “loopy” areas (such a technical term, I know) in white to give them a little more detail. My sweet friend, LeAnne (who is hosting this challenge) sent me an awesome white gel pen for my birthday last month and this was the perfect project to ty it out on. The gel pen is called Acrylista and it is by Zig. Thank you so much LeAnne! I loved trying it out for your challenge!

*You could also use the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker from Stampin’ Up!® to create a similar effect. I tried it out and it works great, too!
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp set using the Shimmer White Embossing Powder. Then, I added a little pop of sparkle behind the sentiment layer with a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Dies using Silver Glimmer Paper. To finish everything off, I colored a trio of rhinestones with the Crumb Cake Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker and added a fluffy bow. All of the supplies I used are listed below.

Card Measurements:
  • Crumb Cake Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Seaside Spray Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Scraps of Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer Paper and Crumb Cake Cardstock for die-cut images
  • Whisper White (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Scraps of Silver Foil for die-cut snowflakes (inside card)
Finally, a peek inside the card, simply dressed up with a coordinating sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and a trio of foil snowflakes die-cut from the Christmas Layers Dies.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! On a personal note, this past Monday we said good-bye to our sweet Ozzy. It has been an incredibly difficult week and I am just heartbroken. We are missing him so much, but know that he is no longer in any pain. I still remember the first time I saw him at the shelter, we connected instantly. He was a very special little guy!
