My Backyard Garden

I wanted to show you my little backyard garden. I am so glad that this house has some space at the backyard for me to plant some herbs. Not like in PA that I have to plant everything in a flower pot of containers. The backyard is quite bit but I still need some time to get it organize. So for the time being I just plant some flowers and herbs at a corner. The next season I will get Carlos to boil some planter boxes so I can plant vegetables. Here are some pictures on the progress of my little garden.

The little garden looks pretty bare when I first stared.
I planted some herbs.
Cilantro
Rosemary
Mint
Parsley
Thyme
Daun Kesum
Thai Basil
Lemongrass
Sage
Sweet Basil
Curry Plant - I have to plant this in a pot so I can bring it into the house during winter.
Strawberries

Meyer Lemon
After 3 months it bear some fruits

Some flowers to add colors to the little garden.

Sign Of Spring?

It’s certainly been a long winter here in PA. I think spring is finally here. Over the weekend the weather was sunny with temperature in the high 70’s. What a perfect day to be outside. Flowers are blooming and many people hang out in the nearby park. With this weather I finally went out to clean up all the death plants to get ready for this season planting. I throw away two huge garbage bags of dead plants. I am looking forward to plant something different this season. I plan to plant egg plants, okra, red and yellow peppers, varieties of lettuce and herbs. No more tomato for me. I am still freaking out over the huge worms.

Time for shorts and flip-flops yet? Nah............ Weather forecast. Will be raining for 3 straight days!!!

Spring Is Here!!

Spring finally show up in this part of the country. Weather is in the 70’s for the past few days and you can see people walking in shorts and flip flop. You can hear bird chirping early in the morning, tulips and daffodils popping out from the ground and the cherry blossoms in full blooming. I can keep away all the heavy jackets and send all our sweaters to the dry cleaner. Carlos already helps me to clean up all my dead plants and I am all ready for my tomatoes planting this year. I am actually not looking forward to plant the tomatoes because of the horn worms but when I think of the sweet juicy tomatoes I just have to plant it again. One thing for sure Carlos will have to tend to the plants for me :) Beside that I plan to plant lettuce, chilies, herbs, sawi and maybe some peas.

Here are some pictures I took from the neighborhood.

Flowers from Home Depot. So which flowers do you think I should plant this year?
