Liberia aboard a cruise ship

We visited Liberia last winter during our cruise of the Atlantic ocean. We bought the ticket for the cruise ship in Spain. The ticket included seven nights on the ship. The only thing that was not included was a flight ticket from Dakar, from which we traveled back to Spain. We spent one day in Liberia, during which we toured Monrovia, the capital of Liberia. It was an interesting stop in an interesting, albeit poor, city. Iberia Airlines took very good care of us on the way from Dakar to Madrid. Even though we forgot to print our airfare ticket, everyone at the airport was very nice and helpful.

Aboard Liberia Airways

We found a cheap airfare ticket with Liberia Airways back when we lived in Liberia, and we flew to Guinea Bissau for a couple of days. Liberia Airways was a small airline with just one plane at that time. We left Liberia at seven in the morning aboard its Antonov, and despite having concerns about safety, the plane seemed to be working just fine. We were treated to champagne and an opulent breakfast. Even though we were travelling from Liberia on a return ticket, we decided to drive the bus back to Liberia to see some other countries on the way. Later, we wanted to purchase another ticket with Liberia Airlines, this time for Cameroon, but we learned that Liberia Airlines suspended most of their flights before ceasing all their operations. It was a pity for Liberia to lose its airline.
