The photos from the 7th Annual Pumpkin Carving Party are up!
Check ’em out! Everyone had a great time. We ate, carved pumpkins, ate, roasted pumpkin seeds (thanks Lisa!) and then ate some more. All the pumpkins turned out really great. Behold:

In the middle of the night, I often get thirsty, so I keep a glass of water beside my bed (I even have a bendy-straw in the cup so I can drink without having to lift my head…but that’s another story). Well last night (or early this morning, I’m not sure of the time only that it was still dark outside) I reached for the glass but instead of grabbing the glass, I knocked it over….right onto my sleeping dog. Poor Ellie! She jumped up and ran to the foot of the bed. I got out of bed and tried to console her, apologizing for dumping water all over her. I turned her bed over, so the wet side was down and tried to coax her back to her bed. She refused and snuck around to Sim’s side of the bed. I felt so bad.
But she must have forgiven me at some point in the night, because when I woke up this morning, she was back to sleeping on her bed again. Poor lil’ thing.
Well, I survived the weekend. I gotta tell ya, it was fantastic. It was just what I needed! We stayed up late, slept in, kept our jammies on all day, watched movies, ate junk food, and started drinking at noon! Who doesn’t love that?!? Here are some of the more flattering (and less incriminating) pictures from the weekend.
A delicate balance of Vodka, Triple Sec, cranberry juice and lime makes for a yummy concoction….and a fun time!
Ok gang. I’m heading outta town. I’ll have some drunken (slightly censored, I’m sure!) stories to report back after my weekend with the girls. Oh and photos! Can’t forget the photos! 🙂
Oh no. I just had a thought. What am I gonna do all weekend with no blogs to read? NO BLOGS!! Not even Internet!! Oh boy. I guess I am just gonna have to start drinking sooner than I thought.
This weekend I am going out of town for a fun-filled “Girl’s Weekend” with Lisa M. and Lisa P. We rented a beach house in Manzanita so we can drink, relax, drink, hang out, drink, go shopping, and then drink some more. It’s gonna be great! (And I could really use it right about now.) Tonight I have to pick up some groceries, do some laundry and pack my bags because we are leaving as soon as the Lisas get off work.
Also in preparing to “abandon” my husband (as he likes to say), I have to make a list of things he needs to do while I am away. I thought I would share that with all of you, ’cause you know how I love lists!
And it’s a working list, so it may change as I come up with more things!
Ok, as promised, here are some of the pictures I took on Saturday at the Lakeview Farms pumpkin patch and corn maze.
The gangs all here! From left to right: Penny, David, Lisa M., John, Kaylee (way up top!), Simeon, Nick and David.
Last night I was frantically organizing my photos from the corn maze and pumpkin patch so I could put them live today for your viewing pleasure. Since there are just shy of 400 pictures from the weekend to sort through (yes, I know I have issues, but my camera is just that cool), it took quite some time. Then, just as I was about to call Sim to have him help me upload them correctly, my computer crashed. That’s right. Full on froze and refused to play. It was late and I did not want to sort through them all again. Sorry. I will work on it tonight and (hopefully) have them up tomorrow.
I also wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and support. I am definitely getting better at dealing with failure (there I said it). The jury is still out as to whether that is a good thing or not.
I don’t really know how to say this, as I hate the “F-word” but my test did not go as, shall we say, planned. I have been having quite the time coming to terms with this situation. I go from anger, to uncontrollable tears, to humiliation, to simply “meh.” I am definately better when I am not telling someone what happened. I do not deal well with disappointment. I have made the required calls. Put the word out. Now I am just hoping I can make it through Monday (I did ask my boss if there was a way I could work from home. He laughed. Did he not know I was serious?). I am not sure what went wrong, but I am going to do whatever I can to correct it. At least the study material I used was guaranteed, so they have to pay for the next test. But oh God did I want to be done with this crap already. Oh well. I am getting up, moving on, and damn it I am going to have a fun weekend. (I hope.)
I just wanted to let you all know that when you are studying, and subsequently, starving, the most wonderful food in the world is Kraft Spiral Macaroni & Cheese. Mmmmm!
That is all. Back to studying.
I know I have been neglecting you all lately (don’t worry Internet, I still love you!), but it’s because any free time I have has been spent studying for my Securities License. Tomorrow is the final big day. I am taking my Series 63 exam at 1pm, so I need you all to think positive thoughts and send me good vibes!! Then once this is all over, I can finally relax again and go back to my normal adult life. Who knew that I could so quickly forget how to study and do homework?
Then once the test is over, I am going to have a fun, fun weekend! First its the corn maze and pumpkin patch on Saturday with a bunch of our friends. This will be the 5th year we have been going to Lakeview Farms. It is so much fun! On Sunday Simeon and I are taking a much-needed trip to the beach. We haven’t visited our parents in ages, so we are going to Seaside for the day. I plan to have pictures up from all of the weekend’s events! Check back soon!
