Fashion Show

Today, the blog post is by Aidan...who just turned 10 years old. It is a fashion show of just some of the wonderful outfits she got for her birthday...for her 18" doll. These creative ensembles were made by my friend Bea and mailed to Aidan. She was so excited to find that the box in the kitchen was for her...she didn't even wait to move it into the bedroom before opening it.

It was full of doll clothes, shoes, hats, and even a doll bed with mattress, quilt, and pillows.
Bea, you are just too much! Thank you so very much for making my darling Aidan smile for the past two days as she has dressed and re-dressed and re-dressed...etc...her doll.
(p.s. I love the little fur monkey you included in the dolls backpack)
Here's the fashion show!!

And, these are not even half of the outfits!

(p.s. yes, I did not make my bed this morning...ha!)

Stuffed Animals

Here are three little stuffed animals I worked up yesterday. They don't take much fabric or buttons, and are really cute. I'll add them to a shelve and they will make me smile when viewed. If I still worked, I'd even consider putting them in my office....just to remind me to be kind and smile more! Ha!
The patterns are all from Bunny Hill Designs...and I got mine at CrazyQuiltSupplies. The fabrics are scraps of left-overs from various projects..and are from the French General Line by Moda mostly.
There is a whole group of these little mini-critters. I chose only three to stitch.

Bunny. I stitched one ear UP and one ear FLOPPSY.

Lamb. I'm thinking about painting the feet and nose black...more like a real lamb would be. Or dark gray like the dots of this pink fabric.

Squirrel. Think I'll do another one in blue as he is nice and flat...without a lot of buttons/beads...so just right for little Brady to play with if I French Knot the eyes. Although these would all make cute little additions to a nursery shelf area...the buttons/beads don't make them good toys for little ones. But, that doesn't mean that us "Biggun's" can't play with them. (Translated: Biggun's is southern slang for grown-up folks!)
Hugs!

StitchMAP Moderator Challenge Swap

A few days ago, I shared a sneak peak photo of the challenge item I created for Amy. Well, I mailed it and she has received it…so I can blog the entire photo! Yea!
The challenge was to take a beautiful peacock applique motif that Shari sent to all the Moderators at Christmas time…and create a special object for our swap partner. I started a crazy quilt project…hated it! Discarded it. I started a needle case…hated it! Discarded it. Then I was thinking that I really needed a creative muse to help me develop a real plan for this swap. Bingo! The light went on! And, I created my first “muse”. After creating her for Amy..I had to create one of my own…which ya’ll got to see right away! Here is Amy’s muse…with her peacock necklace…and hair clip!
I did not think to take a photo of the peacock motif before I cut it into 3 pieces! The necklace only needed a short piece...and the remainder I put into the hair clip.
If you have not sewn a doll in a while...it is very enjoyable! I highly recommend it!
If you need a pattern, remember that there is a free one in the Yahoo Files...check that out on the Creative Muse post I did earlier. Here are some more photos!

My Muse is Complete!

She is a little wild and crazy...full of the joy of creativity!

She loves to dream up ideas for me to pursue!
She refuses to let me become bored with daily chores!

She does not sleep!
Instead spends her nights distributing dust bunnies and threads on my floor!
She occasionally changes my clocks to make me late!
She hides important things so I have to spend loads of time looking for them!
She makes me smile when  I look at her!
(She is wearing a hat in honor of William and Catherine's wedding!)

and
if you want to make your own...the pattern and instruction sheet are
loaded on the Yahoo Group Site in the Files section
