PTSD is Really Bad Thousands of New Victims in Boston and Texas Marijuana is Really Good Therapy

(PORTLAND, OR) - Despite what the naysayers at the VA Hospital system say, the recent events in B boston and Texas should allay any doubt of the reality of this horrific affliction of the mind, brain and soul.

The Boston citizens were significantly traumatized by a few seconds of overwhelming terror. Everything after that can be classified hopefully, as recovery.

Those who spoke about their experience exhibited raw terror in its worst form --- fear of dismemberment or death. The former is much worse than the latter. Death for some is more acceptable than long term suffering of the terror to the mind.

The military combat veterans are not the only victims of PTSD, civilians with only one horrific event like these in Boston and Texas will not only be victims of these events, but will be mistreated by their physicians with morphine like drugs, Valium like drugs, antidepressant drugs and anti-seizure drugs, none of which have been found to be really or generally helpful, but cause really bad adverse side effects including suicide.

Many will try alcohol or even cocaine which are just as bad as the four mentioned above.

I have been trying to tell the combat veterans as well as the general public that marijuana is excellent medicine to allay the immediate symptoms causing terror but also the horrible sequelae of PTSD. It seems the treating physicians, especially those at VA hospitals, are brainwashed to tell their patients, that "PTSD will soon go away." It doesn't happen and it will not happen.

I checked through my files. I found about 70 articles by me or about me on Salem-News.com. There were 70 going back six years. One article, 'Marijuana vs Antidepressants for PTSD', had 869 FACEBOOK recommends, all positive about marijuana. To me, this indicated very strong support and affirmation. Other articles not specifying marijuana had far less response.

I feel great sorrow for the recently terrorized PTSD victims such as those associated with the Boston Marathon and the Texas fertilizer explosion. Massachusetts has a medial marijuana program but no access points or dispensaries for patients to procure medicine. In Texas, one joint might get you thrown in a Texas jail for six months.

In the meantime, Illinois has just legalized medical marijuana and Colorado and Washington have legalized it right across the board.

Can attest to its benefits, my husband was in OIF and came home suffering with ptsd. In the process of going thru the va-pretty sure he has tbi as well. But he medicates with canabis and it helps him so much with all his problems ptsd. Only thing is where we live it is not yet legalized, waiting for the day in which he can use it as the medicine it is and not an "illegal drug"
