Masking Unleashed

I am now working on my Level 2 Altenew Certification and sharing my second project, this is from the Altenew Masking Unleashed class. There are so many fabulous techniques in this class, I chose to use the Day 1 basic masking technique for this card:

I stamped these blooms and leaves with the Altenew Hibiscus Bouquet Stamp set. Flowers were stamped in Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious and Rubellite. Leaves were stamped in Frayed Leaf.

After stamping all the images I adhered the masks and inked the background with a light hand of Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers.

Sentiment is cut with the Altenew Caps Bold Alphabet Die, inked with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and once dry, oxidized with water. A layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze adds shine to the sentiment.

These are the masks I made using Post It notes, I covered all the images so I was able to ink the entire background.

After inking the background I removed the masks and applied Wink of Stella Clear Glitter.

I apologize for the poor lighting but I hope you can catch a glimpse of the wink of Stella sparkle :).

With A Twist

Hi All!

This post title is the name of the Altenew card class that inspired this card. I chose to create a card based on the lesson using unexpected colour combinations. This was the perfect opportunity to use some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.

Using the Altenew Cube builder stencil, I applied Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Squeezed Lemonade.

The flower was stamped and die cut with the Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp and die in Distress oxide  Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral ink.

A sentiment from the Altenew Label Love set completes this brightly coloured card.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look😊

Happy Wedding!

Hello!

I am thrilled to be sharing my Level 1 Challenge Assignment with you.

My challenge was to select any 3 components from the Level 1 Altenew classes and create a love/anniversary/wedding theme card or project.

I used the Beautiful Day stamp set from the All About Layering 2 class, embossing powder from the Let It Shine class and embossing with dies from the Easy Die Cutting Techniques class.

I used the Cube Cover die to emboss white card stock and then misted it with Imagine Crafts Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle.

The flowers are stamped with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake and Lagoon. The last outline image is stamped with Versamark embossing ink, sprinkled with Stampendous detail silver embossing powder and heat set.

The blooms were fussy cut, leaves stamped on white card stock and then heat embossed in detail silver. I hope you can see a bit of the sparkle from the Shimmer Spritz in this photo.

The flowers were then arranged along the bottom and side edge of the card front with foam adhesive to add dimension. I die cut the leaves with the matching die and then tucked them under the blooms.
The sentiment is 2 separate stamps from the Studio Katia "Happy" set, with all the Altenew stamps I have I did not have one that said Happy Wedding.

The sentiment is attached with foam adhesive and I've also added Studio Katia Majestic Fusion sequins.

Lastly, I adhered the card front to black card stock, leaving a thin border around the card front. I then added a strip of The Ton silver glitter paper to the top and left side of the card stock and then adhered the card front to a 4.25" by 5.5" card base.

Thanks for taking a look!
