Nine Lives
A warm crescent-shaped shawl inspired by an image of an Indian dancer on the cover of Nine Lives by William Dalrymple.
The shawl starts with one stitch and combines lace knitting, stranding, silver beads, and an opportunity to go crazy with your favorite colors.
The sample was knit on 3.25mm/US3 needles
with 3 balls, 150g/522yds/480m of Rowan Pure Wool 4Ply color 436 red,
approx. 30g/120yds/105m of Rowan Pure Wool 4Ply color 456 purple,
approx. 10g/40yds/35m of Rowan Pure Wool 4Ply color 454 yellow, &
approx. 10g/40yds/35m of Rowan Pure Wool 4Ply color 443 very pale pink.
Finished dimensions: 40ins/102cm across;
center back from CO to lower edge is 19ins/48cm.
Approx. 425 size 6/0 silver glass beads are added using a 1mm crochet hook.
The pdf includes five charts and instructions. Familiarity with back & forth stranding with multiple increases is a must for this pattern!
