Bartenders Share Their Most Positive Celebrity Interactions
The Cheers lyric claiming "you want to go where everybody knows your name" doesn't really work for celebrities, because they'd probably much rather go to a bar where they can imbibe without anyone recognizing them. Bartenders who've served famous actors and other celebrities generally don't pour and tell, but as anonymous tellers of bar tales on Reddit, they can share a little more freely about the famous faces who've visited their establishment.
You might think they are full of sordid stories, but most shared positive memories of the celebrities they've seen and served in their bars, pubs, and restaurants.Ā

Lots of men actually like really "girly" drinks. Dwayne Johnson asked for Blue Hawaii, and the drunker he got, the more little umbrellas he wanted. In the end I gave him a plate of cocktail cherries and he just giggled the whole time. He's delightful.

2Ian McKellen AndĀ Patrick StewartĀ Are Nutty
From Redditor u/Expensive_Spot:
Most interactions are really nice, to be honest... Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen like to pretend to steal my bar nuts, so I let them... It's a good job.

Naomi Campbell is sort of legendary in bartending circles for how well she tips, and after she stayed with us for a few nights, she made a point to tip us all individually. I got £7000.

Bill Murray... has a private joke with me that I've not been let in on. Whenever he's in and I'm on duty, he'll hide behind a newspaper and only lower it enough to stare at me every once in a while so he can order a drink and then it's back up.
I love him.

I'm ambivalent about Johnny Depp in general, but he's never been anything but a total gentleman...

Clint Eastwood was cool as F*CK. Actually got a bit star-struck with him. Came in with about four other guys and just set up camp next to the end of the bar so his group could shield him from all the people. He didn't like giving autographs/being bothered for pics, but he talked with the servers and bartenders.

Christopher Lloyd... quiet dude, stayed at my hotel for like a month. Finally cracked him in the end - got to talking about football among other things. Ordered the same thing every day without fail: Arnold Palmer, extra simple syrup on the side.

Vanilla Ice wouldn't go into the VIP area. He'd just hang out on the dance floor, and the public areas.

James Gandolfini came in and had lunch at my bar... He had a sweet tea and a muffuletta. Would have given anything to make him a proper drink. He was funny, talkative, and sweet.

Jennifer Lawrence was very different than I'd imagined. I hate that "I'm normal and eat pizza" thing she does, but she wasn't like that at all in person. Relatively quiet, excellent conversationalist. I really liked her.

I'd never really understood the hype around [Domhnall Gleeson}, other than him being an excellent actor, but he's also a beautiful man. And a gem of a human to boot... [He is] genuinely one of the nicest and most interesting people we've had in.

Madonna wanted Goldschläger and root beer with a cherry.
She got exactly that (had to dig around to find root beer at the bar) and tipped extremely well (or more exactly, her people tipped well!).

Last summer I poured a vodka tonic for Oprah at her estate sale. She was nice and raised her glass at me as she walked away.
