Duff was just 14-years-old when Lizzie McGuire debuted. As the title character, she perfectly combined heartfelt pathos and slapstick comedy, no small feat for a teenager in her first major role. The multitalented Duff is a chart-topping singer. too, with five studio albums. Since the show ended, Duff has continued to act and make music. Notably, she starred as Sophie Tomkins in How I Met Your Father. She has also written a bestselling trilogy of young adult novels.

Lalaine Vergara-Paras was unforgettable as Lizzie's best pal, Miranda Sanchez. Miranda comes off as a self-assured teen but underneath it all, she is extremely self-conscious and much more complex than her confident exterior belies. Vergara-Paras has acted in a few projects since Lizzie McGuire, most notably in a three-episode arc on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Much of her attention, though, has been on music, which is why Miranda is absent in some of the later Lizzie episodes and subsequent movie. Vergara-Paras, who completed a drug rehab after being caught with crystal meth in 2007, still acts and makes music. She is grateful for the opportunities her most famous role has provided:

Lamberg has largely retired from acting and only appeared in a few more roles after Lizzie McGuire's cancellation. Away from the glare of Hollywood, he has focused on his education, obtaining a bachelor's in geography from UC Berkley and a master's in public administration from Baruch College.
He lives and works in New York and was scheduled to reprise his role as Gordo for the Disney+ Lizzie McGuire reboot, but unfortunately the project fell through. It's unclear what Lamberg's acting plans are going forward. "I'm probably somewhere between the denial stage and the acceptance stage as to whether I still can/want to do this with my life," he said.

Jo McGuire isn't the perfect mother and that's probably one of the reasons we love her so much. Hallie Todd, who portrayed Jo, comes from a show biz family. Her mother was actress Ann Guilbert (Yetta from The Nanny) and her father was writer and TV producer George Eckstein. Since Lizzie McGuire went off the air, Todd has had a number of guest roles on television shows and a few minor spots in small movies. Robert Carradine, who played Sam McGuire, also hails from a long line of show business talent, including father John Carradine and brothers Keith and David Carradine. Carradine said the accident resulted from a psychotic episode and his then-wife claimed that he intentionally caused the crash and refused to take medication for his bipolar disorder.

Matt McGuire is Lizzie's pesky little brother, an amalgam of all annoying younger siblings. Jake Thomas was a perfect Matt and he continues to work in the entertainment industry as an actor, director, and photographer. Despite his talent for comedic acting, much of Thomas's later work has been more serious, including guest roles on ER, House, Criminal Minds, and NCIS. His most famous post-Lizzie role was in another Disney Channel sitcom, Cory in the House, which ran for one season in the late 2000s.
He also has a terrifically wicked sense of humor about his run as a child actor; when asked how he's able to support himself as a former child star, Thomas responded, "Acting, wise investments, and not buying a Lamborghini when I was 16."

Ashlie Brillault played Kate. Kate is the original mean girl who used to be best friends with Lizzie and Miranda. Once Lizzie McGuire wrapped, Brillault left show business and got a degree in political science from California State University. She went on to get a law degree, got married, and became a mother.
"At the moment I'm focusing on being a mom to this amazing little human being," she told MTV in 2015. "And in the next few months I plan on looking for a job as a lawyer in the civil rights or criminal defense field. My ultimate goal is to work on issues related to criminal justice reform."

Ethan is an airhead hunk but there is something undeniably charming about him. Even wholesome Lizzie and her girlfriends all harbor crushes for him. Clayton Snyder, who played Ethan, kept a low profile for many years after Lizzie McGuire. He attended Pepperdine University and played water polo there and for the US national polo team. He found a long-lasting passion for the sport, going on to co-host a water polo podcast titled Water Polo Wednesday.
In recent years, he's been dipping his toes back into acting with small roles in short films, on NCIS, and in several web series. And if you're wondering, Clayton has retained his hunk factor.

Kyle Downes Directs
Kyle Downes was Larry "Tudge" Tudgeman, the nerdiest kid in school who doesn't have many allies outside of Lizzie and her friends. Downes had a handful of TV guest roles after Lizzie, including a two-episode stint on The L Word. He has since turned his attention to writing and directing, creating a number of short films and a feature-length production called Proxy Kill.
Downes was reported missing in 2011 but was found to be "just taking some time away." He lives in Los Angeles and is a motorcycle aficionado.

Davida Williams Is An Actress, Singer, And Photographer
An even more vicious mean girl than Kate, Claire is the girl we all love to hate. Daughter to Michael Jackson's longtime guitarist, Williams started her career as a child actor in the early 1990s. Since Lizzie McGuire, she has continued to work steadily, mostly on TV.
Williams has appeared in Training Day, Baby Daddy, and Casual, to name a few, and she had a recurring role on soap opera As the World Turns. In addition to acting, Williams is a singer and photographer. She lives in Los Angeles.

Christian Copelin Is Still Mostly Silent
Christian Copelin portrayed the character of Lanny Onassis, Matt's oddball best friend. Throughout his run on Lizzie McGuire, Lanny never says a word. The mystery continues with Copelin, who has seemingly dropped off the radar since Lizzie went off the air. MTV was able to track down one project credited to Copelin back in 2008. It was a web series he wrote and produced. He also provided the voice for one character (yup, Copelin can actually speak).
As far as the entertainment industry goes, Copelin hasn't done much else. But in 2019 he began pursing a career in real estate, selling homes in the Hollywood Hills area.

Melina is another friend of Matt's and the two eventually develop romantic feelings for one another. Carly Schroder, who played Melina, has continued to act in movies. In 2019 Schroder made the decision to enlist the US military. Over time, she went up in ranks, eventually hitting the rank of Captain by 2024.
