When he first began his acting career in the mid 1950s, he wasn't credited for his acting roles. He took uncredited roles in films such as, Revenge of the Creature, Lady Godiva of Coventry, Never Say Goodbye, and Escapade in Japan. His first breakout role occurred when he landed the role of Rowdy Yates in Rawhide. He went on to use his skill set to develop the spaghetti Western genre with A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More. When The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly debuted, it propelled Eastwood into stardom.   

Eastwood's career continued to flourish, earning him consistent roles in film and television over the next half-dozen decades. He starred in all of the Dirty Harry films, beginning in the 1970s. This was his most popular role. Eastwood has also directed over 30 films, including Play Misty For Me, J. Edgar, Jersey Boys, and American Sniper. He is also a dedicated and outspoken politician, holding the title of Mayor of Carmel By the Sea, California from 1986-1988. He continues to use his clout to promote political activism.
