The group most notably won a Grammy Award in 1997 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, for featuring in the song "I'll Be Missing You" with Sean Combs and Faith Evans.

- A Flock of Seagulls are an English new wave and synth-pop band originally formed in 1980 in Liverpool by Michael "Mike" Score (lead vocals, keyboards), his brother Alister "Ali" James Score (drums), and Francis Lee "Frank" Maudsley (bass), with their most famous line-up consisting of the Score brothers, Maudsley, and lead guitarist Paul Reynolds. - Abra Moore (born June 8, 1969, in San Diego, California) is a folk-styled rock singer-songwriter. Moore was a founding member of the Hawaiian rock band Poi Dog Pondering, but left to pursue a solo career after the group's move to Texas in the late 1980s. Her 1997 album Strangest Places included the hit "Four Leaf Clover", which received airplay in Midwest U.S. radio markets and VH1 and MTV2 rotation, and charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

- Ace of Base was a Swedish pop group, originally consisting of Ulf Ekberg and three siblings, Jonas Berggren, Linn Berggren and Jenny Berggren. - Adema is a nu metal band from Bakersfield, California. The band formed in 2000 with members lead vocalist Mark Chavez, vocalist/guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes. Ransom left the band in 2003 followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts between themselves and other members of the band. Luke Caraccioli replaced Chavez in early 2005 for one album, Planets, but then left a few months later in late 2005. Vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Farris, both from the band Level, were recruited to join as well, but only released one album, Kill the Headlights in 2007, before entering a hiatus. The band's original line up reformed in late 2009 and toured, but both Ransom and Chavez left again before any new music would be recorded. Fluckey took over lead vocals from 2011 to 2017. The lineup released an EP, Topple the Giants. In 2013 Ransom returned once again; Chavez rejoined the band again in March 2017, only to leave again in 2019. He was replaced by Ryan Shuck

- Air Supply is a soft rock duo, consisting of English singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. - Allen David Jourgensen (born Alejandro Ramírez Casas; October 9, 1958) is a Cuban-American singer-songwriter, musician and music producer. Closely related with the independent record label Wax Trax! Records, Jourgensen has an active musical career that spans four decades, and is best known as the frontman of the industrial rock band Ministry, which he founded in 1981 and of which he remains the only constant member. He was also primary musician of several Ministry-related projects, such as Revolting Cocks, Lard, Buck Satan and the 666 Shooters. He has also produced and/or recorded with numerous other artists, including The Reverend Horton Heat, Prong, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, The Blackouts, Alan Vega, Iggy Pop, Adrian Sherwood, Jello Biafra and others. Jourgensen is regarded as being one of the most prominent figures of industrial music, influencing numerous other groups and musicians, both in alternative and industrial-associated acts. Born in Havana shortly before the Cuban Revolution of 1959, Jourgensen moved to the United States with his family at age of three, and was raised mainly in Chicago and Breckenridge, Colorado. In his early years, he had developed an early interest to music, and was involved in several short-lived bands, as well as briefly performing in the backing band of drag performer Divine. Jourgensen formed Ministry in 1981 in Chicago and received significant attention from music press regarding the band's 1983 debut studio album, With Sympathy. Jourgensen's subsequent releases in the 1980s, most prominently Ministry's The Land of Rape and Honey (1988) and The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste (1989), showcased his stylistic transition; in the early 1990s, he had achieved mainstream success with Ministry's fifth studio album, Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs (1992). The next few years were marked by publicity surrounding Jourgensen's substance abuse which inflicted heavy damage on his creative output; during this period, he made, along with Ministry, an appearance in the 2001 Steven Spielberg film A.I. Artificial Intelligence. In 2005, Jourgensen established his own record label, 13th Planet Records, through which several Ministry records, among others, were released until early 2010s. He published his autobiography, Ministry: The Lost Gospels ... co-authored with Jon Wiederhorn, in 2013.

- Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe were a progressive rock band active from 1988 to 1990 that comprised four past members of the English progressive rock band Yes. Singer Jon Anderson left Yes as he felt increasingly constrained by their commercial and pop-oriented direction in the 1980s. He began an album with one of the band's line-ups from the 1970s with guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Rick Wakeman, and drummer Bill Bruford, who invited Tony Levin to play bass. The group released their sole studio album, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, in June 1989 which reached number 14 in the UK and number 30 in the US. Their 1989–90 world tour was well-received and spawned two live albums, An Evening of Yes Music Plus and Live at the NEC. In 1990, tracks for a second studio album were included with songs recorded by Yes to make the thirteenth Yes album, Union. - Anthony Braxton (born June 4, 1945) is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist who is known in the genre of free jazz.Since the 1960s, he has released more than 100 albums. He plays many types of saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, contrabass, sopranino, C-melody, mezzo-soprano) and clarinet (E-flat, B-flat, contrabass), in addition to flute, alto flute, and piano. Braxton studied philosophy at Roosevelt University. He taught at Mills College in the 1980s, and was Professor of Music at Wesleyan University from the 1990s until his retirement at the end of 2013. He taught music composition and music history, with a concentration on the avant-garde, as well as leading ensembles in performances of his compositions. In 1994, he was given a genius grant by the MacArthur Foundation. In 2013, he was named a 2014 National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master.

- Babylon A.D. is a hard rock band formed in 1986. Babylon A.D. hail from the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Original members, Derek Davis vocalist/songwriter, guitarists and music writers Dan De La Rosa and Ron Freschi, drummer Jamey Pacheco and bassist Robb Reid were all in childhood rival bands. In 1989, Babylon A.D. caught the attention of Arista Records president and industry music mogul Clive Davis, who signed them at a live showcase in Los Angeles. Babylon A.D. self-titled album was released in 1989 and included their hard rock classic hits "Bang Go the Bells", "Hammer Swings Down" and "The Kid Goes Wild", which was the trailer song and video for Orion Pictures movie RoboCop 2. Rock musicBandit was a British rock band, existing between 1976 and 1978. Bandit released two albums with different line-ups. Bandit's debut Bandit was released in late 1976 on Arista Records. This album featured Jim Diamond on lead vocals, Danny McIntosh on guitar, future AC/DC band member Cliff Williams, James Litherland, and drummer Graham Broad, now of Roger Waters's band. A single entitled "Ohio" was also released. The punk rock music scene of the time caused a lack of attention and the band later parted ways. Diamond went on to join Ph.D., and gained a UK Top 10 hit with "I Won't Let You Down". He later went solo and scored two more chart toppers. A second album, Partners in Crime, was released by Ariola Records in 1978, but that too fell into obscurity. The only member of the original line-up to feature on the second album was McIntosh. The other band members for the second album were Gerry Trew, Theodore Thunder, and Tony Lester. Both albums are long out of print. McIntosh is now the guitarist for, and husband of, the singer-songwriter Kate Bush. Jones was a major contributor to the discography and commercial success of the Outlaws. Hughie Thomasson invited him to join the Outlaws after seeing him perform. Jones grew up in Tampa, FL but lived for a long time in Boulder, Colorado. While in high school he was a track star holding the record in the 440-yard dash. A very talented musician, he played drums, keyboards and guitar. He was offered a scholarship to Juilliard School of Music but turned it down, electing to attend the University of South Florida. He was a math major and graduated near the top of his class. He taught and tutored math for a while and contemplated teaching full time, but music was Jones's calling. He recorded one album with a band called H.Y. Sledge before joining Outlaws. He was initially brought on as a keyboardist but soon switched to lead guitar, helping crystallize the trademark Outlaws sound. After major band success throughout the 1970s, Jones and Outlaws parted ways in 1981 after the album Ghost Riders.In February 1995, Jones died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He is buried in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Florida.- Blackhawk is an American country music group founded in 1992 by Henry Paul, Van Stephenson, and Dave Robbins. Several backing musicians also performed with the trio; however, these backing musicians were not officially part of Blackhawk until 2008. Prior to the group's formation, Robbins and Stephenson had co-written several Number One singles for the country pop band Restless Heart, and Stephenson had also charted two pop hits in the early 1980s. Paul was previously a member of the Southern rock band Outlaws as well. In 1993, Blackhawk was signed to a record deal with Arista Nashville. Their debut single, "Goodbye Says It All", was released that year, peaking at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts, and their first album was certified 2× Multi-Platinum by the RIAA. Van Stephenson departed the group in 2000 due to complications from skin cancer. He was replaced with Randy Threet, who made his first appearance on Spirit Dancer, the band's fifth studio album.

- In Grateful Dead lore, Bob Weir was "the Other One"-- the singer, guitarist and songwriter who wasn't Jerry Garcia. But Weir was both a productive solo artist and a crucial part of the Dead mix, where his rhythm guitar anchored the psychedelic jams and his more straightforward songs balanced Garcia's cosmic epics (though he wrote a few of the latter himself). "The Other One" was also the name of Weir's first Grateful Dead song, which concerned a life-changing psychedelic bus ride that Weir took with writer Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters. Raised in San Francisco, Weir was pulled into the Dead orbit when he met the young Jerry Garcia at the music store where he taught in 1963; he was in place for the early Dead incarnation as the Warlocks. Weir became a stronger force as the band grew, though he wouldn't contribute another song until "Sugar Magnolia" in 1971. As the youngest member of the Dead (and by general consensus, the only good-looking guy in the band), Weir was also a focal point onstage. His strongest musical moment was arguably his 1972 solo debut Ace. Though billed as a solo album it featured the Dead throughout, and "Playing in the Band" and "One More Saturday Night" became popular live tunes for decades. Weir also proved willing to go in a more commercial direction outside the Dead, notably with the side band Bobby & the Midnites, whose two albums edged toward conventional arena rock. However he was back in the groove for the Dead's late-'80s resurgence, writing the key tracks "Throwing Stones" and "Hell in a Bucket" for their 1987 comeback album In the Dark. In 1985 he formed the side band RatDog, originally with bassist Rob Wasserman, doing jam-friendly music in the Dead tradition. He was touring with that band when news broke of Jerry Garcia's death in August 1995, and opted to keep playing so that he and the fans could deal musically with their grief. After Garcia's death, Weir largely devoted himself to the Dead legacy. The first post-Garcia incarnation of the band, called the Other Ones, toured in 1998, the group was renamed The Dead in 2009 and, with a reshuffled lineup, later became Furthur (named after Kesey's psychedelic bus). In 2015 the surviving Dead members Weir, bassist Phil Lesh, and drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart played a show billed as "Fare Thee Well," meant to be the last of the Grateful Dead. However a new version-- minus Lesh, and with guitarist John Mayer--emerged later that year, billed as Dead & Company. Weir was particularly active between 2016-18, working with that band, playing separate duo concerts with Lesh and releasing the cowboy-themed Blue Mountain, his first solo album in nearly 40 years. An indie movie telling his life story, "The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir," premiered in 2014.

Bobby and the Midnites was a rock group led by Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. The band was Weir's main side project during the first half of the 1980s. They released two albums, but were better known for their live concerts than for their work in the recording studio. - Boxcar is an Australian Sydney-based synthpop and techno band. Formed in the mid-1980s in Brisbane by main songwriter guitarist and vocalist David Smith, he was soon joined by keyboardists Brett Mitchell and Carol Rohde and somewhat later by drummer-percussionist Crispin Trist. They initially released several cassette-only releases including the album P.C.M.. Boxcar's early material sounded similar to contemporaries such as Cabaret Voltaire and Severed Heads. Boxcar were also notable for playing many live shows in the Brisbane area and around the country, including shows where they performed wearing gas masks. Performing electronic music live was a difficult feat given the preference in Australian live venues for guitar-driven pub rock and they would sometimes be jeered by members of the crowd. They rose to prominence after releasing the single "Freemason" in 1988 after signing with Volition Records, and hit number 8 in the United States Billboard dance music chart. Initially criticised in the local press for being derivative of New Order they nevertheless built a local following, despite a lack of commercial radio airplay for electronic music.

- Brent Mydland (October 21, 1952 – July 26, 1990) was an American keyboardist, vocalist, and songwriter. He was a member of The Grateful Dead from 1979 to 1990, a longer tenure than any other keyboardist in the band. Growing up in Concord, California, Mydland took up music while in elementary school. After graduation, he played with a number of bands and recorded one album with Silver before joining the Dead's Bob Weir's solo band. This led to an invitation to join the Dead in 1979, replacing Keith Godchaux who had decided to leave. Mydland quickly became an important member in the Dead, using a variety of keyboards including Hammond organ and various synthesizers and singing regularly. He wrote several songs on the band's studio albums released while he was a member. After a tour in the early summer 1990, Mydland died of an accidental drug overdose.

- Brooks & Dunn are an American country music duo consisting of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, both of whom are vocalists and songwriters. The duo was founded in 1990 through the suggestion of Tim DuBois. Before their formation, both members were solo recording artists. Both members charted two solo singles apiece in the 1980s, with Brooks also releasing an album for Capitol Records in 1989 and writing hit singles for other artists. - Charles "Chuck" Cissel (born October 3, 1948) is an American singer, dancer, director, choreographer and producer. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma, and was one of the first African Americans to graduate from the university's fine arts school. He was the CEO of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame from 2000–2009 and is now the Artistic Director of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, which is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his early 20s Chuck performed on Broadway in Hello Dolly with Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway, Purlie, Lost in the Stars, Via Galactica, Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope and as an original member of the Broadway musical A Chorus Line, back when Broadway was starting to open up its doors to African American performers. While in A Chorus Line, Chuck recorded his first record, Swept Away, produced by Michael Bennett, producer, director, and choreographer of A Chorus Line. Chuck then went on to record solo albums with Arista Records which were called Just for You, featuring the hard-hitting international dance hit, Cisselin' Hot and If I Had The Chance. Chuck Cissel is also the brother of former Oklahoma State Senator Maxine Horner who along with Oklahoma State Senator Penny Williams is a co-founder of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. He met Austin Dylan in 2019 in a small town in Alabama.

- Clarence Greenwood (born May 20, 1968), also known by his stage name, Citizen Cope, is an American songwriter, producer and performer. Cox ventured into acting in the 2000s, making her film debut in the Canadian drama film Love Come Down (2000) and her stage debut in 2004, in the title role in the Broadway musical Aida. - Deeyah Khan (Urdu: دیا خان, pronounced [di:j^ kʰɑːn], born 7 August 1977) is a Norwegian British documentary film director and human rights activist of Punjabi/Pashtun descent. Deeyah is a two-time Emmy Award winner and the recipient of two BAFTA nominations. She has made four documentaries to date, all have been shown on ITV in the UK as part of its Exposure series. - Diamond Rio is an American Country music/Christian music band formed in 1984 in Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 1994 in Dorset, UK, the band consisted of vocalist Alisdair McKinnell, guitarists Nigel Nisbet and Steve Atkins, bassist Alex Meadows, drummer Paul Pridmore and Keyboardist Jim Hayden. - Ellen Lorraine Reid (born 14 July 1966) is a Canadian musician. She provides backing vocals, piano, keyboards and accordion for the Canadian rock band Crash Test Dummies. On the band's fourth album, Reid sang lead vocals on "Just Chillin'", "Get You in the Morning" and "A Little Something". She also shared lead vocals with Brad Roberts on the single B-sides, "Filter Queen" and "Party's Over". - Eurythmics were a British pop duo consisting of members Annie Lennox and David A. Stewart. Stewart and Lennox were both previously in the band the Tourists (originally known as the Catch), who broke up in 1980; Eurythmics were formed that year in Wagga Wagga, Australia. The duo released their first studio album, In the Garden, in 1981 to little success, but went on to achieve global success with their second album Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), released in 1983. The title track was a worldwide hit, topping the charts in various countries including the US. The duo went on to release a string of hit singles and albums before they split up in 1990.
