Monday Mischief: Were Our Bunnies Robbed??

Remember when I posted about how my sis and I had entered two items in the "Home & Hobby" competition for our county fair? And then I posted that our dogs had won first place in the "Needle Felting" class:

Remember all that? On the post with the 3rd place pic, Sue of the Talking Dogs blog commented: "I really do want to know what got 2nd place and beat out the bunnies. It must be majorly fabulous?"

Well, those pics were from when my one sis (my felting partner sis) went to the fair with her hubs. And this past Friday my other sis (I have many sisters) and I went to the fair. Of course we had to go visit the dogs and bunnies as I wanted to see the ribbons in person.

But it was WAY better than I imagined - because we found out that our dogs ALSO won the "Best of Division" ribbon! Whoo-hoo! You should have seen me squealing and dancing in the hall. (Okay, maybe it's best that you didn't.)

Is that an awesome, big-ol ribbon or what?? So, basically the 2nd bigger blue ribbon means we won the Felting Division - which included Needle Felting, Wet Felting, something like Felting & Knitting and Felting & Crochet. WHOOHOO!

Oh, and that meant another little cash prize too of $25. Plenty to fund our fair feasting for the day!

Now, to return to our bunnies... My sis and I combed the hall twice until we finally found the 2nd place winner:

Somebody's wooly balls

Whaddya think? Were the bunnies robbed by this lady's wooly balls? (I wonder if she has a blog post up somewhere with the title: Were My Wooly Balls Robbed??) To be fair (get it? fair), the fair theme this year was "Game on!" so maybe she got extra points for being on-point.

Anyway, now that we've hit the pinnacle of success, I'm not sure we should enter something again next year. After all, it would be tough to beat how well we did this year.

On the other hand, I found that for the $7 to pay to enter the competition, you get a free ticket to get in as an "exhibitor," so you save the $12 or so bucks it costs to get in, and - best of all - there was a special vendor/exhibitor entrance so we got to by-pass the big ol' line. That's definitely a reason to enter something again next year!
 
My friend said on Facebook: "You've raised the bar in the Needle Felting competition, maybe even inspired others to expand their own creativity. I think you should do another year to keep the quality of art high and also to get easy access to all the fair foods..."

True. Entering for easy access to the fair foods is reason enough. (BTW, we learned our lesson last year - avoid the freaky fried stuff!)

So, yeah, we should probably enter again next year. But we need to find out what the theme is going to be! 

Whaddya think? Were the bunnies robbed? Was there a little mischief there? I will say, as wooly balls go, they were very nice wooly balls. Very uniform. I've rarely seen nicer wooly balls.
