Strategy and Business Model

Phoenix’s strategy is to grow its leading position in firmware development and security for computing devices. Phoenix engages with opportunities across a number of vendor, enterprise and government markets, where its unique firmware expertise and leading market position give the company a strategic advantage.

Very few companies have the extensive expertise and track record in firmware to be able to support the vast range of silicon and device requirements, along with multiple operating systems.

The business has unparalleled supplier partnerships with all major silicon and device manufacturers. This includes relationships with Arm, Intel, AMD and Qualcomm as well as OEMs/ODMs and a blue chip customer base including Lenovo, VAIO, LG, Wistron and Baidu. Its partners and customers value Phoenix’s firmware heritage, capabilities and track record.

Phoenix firmware is critical for building an effective three-way relationship with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original design manufacturer (ODM) who design, develop and manufacture devices, and the silicon vendors, that supply the chips for those devices.

Phoenix engineers are embedded within the development teams of both the silicon vendors and OEMs/ODMs. This close complementary relationship enables Phoenix to provide each customer and each new device with the right solution for the intended application and market.

Phoenix also offers a cloud-based, remote BIOS security solution for MSPs (Managed Service Providers) and enterprise IT teams, FirmGuard, that allows them to remotely manage and secure their entire inventory of endpoint computing devices.

Phoenix is focused on four complementary business areas: device firmwareenterprise ITembedded firmware, and security services.

Phoenix has a notably large IP portfolio, security credentials for UEFI specifications, international distribution channels and the most experienced engineers in the industry, alongside a senior management team with a proven track record.
