Welcome to Smeared Ink my friends!! This is one of my FAVORITE sets...Chicks Dig Guns. It's fab and super hardcore. I have been on a more 'simplistic' kick lately. Using my copious amounts of designer paper scraps and minimal embellishments I have been loving the crisp and clean look that comes out in the end product.
My base for this card is PTI's Kraft cardstock - which I measured from the right hand side in (knowing where my main image and coordinating mattes would be) and stamped the bullet holes in red in just enough to create a border on the right hand side.
I then layered with another brand of lighter Kraft, layered then with a scrap of Basic Grey Scarlet Letter then my main panel.
I stamped my "chick" in Momento Black Tuxedo ink and colored her with my Copics. I then stitched around the edges...a bit haphazardly for a slightly "off" look.
I used the heart from this set stamped in Brilliance Black lightening ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and heat set it.
For balance I then added red rhinestones to the upper right corner and a photo corner punch to the lower left using my Love Bingo cards that I purchased around Valentine's Day at The Paper Source.
I hope you all have a fabu weekend!!
I will be around crafting for most of it as my darling hubby is taking our kids to Maine this weekend as my birthday gift so that this Mommy can get her artsy groove on in some SERIOUS peace and quiet!!!
I will definitely be seeing you all later!!!
XOXO-

Mo's Digital Challenge # 30
Rain...It is my absolute favorite. So when I saw Denise's challenge this week I couldn't wait to play along and I went right to Melia!!!
She's perfect to depict anything water-esque. I've been on a simplistic roll lately. Layering papers, keeping my embellishments to a minimal and letting the images speak for themselves...loudly!!!
I used SU! Tempting Turquoise and a random yellow piece of cardstock I had lying around. I used this amazing fish paper as my far background. I corner rounded the top right and bottom left. Melia is colored with my Copics and her hair is glazed up with Diamond Glaze for that gorgeous shine that her hair would most definitely have if she were truly under the sea.
Thanks for popping by!! And come play along!!!
Tiddy Inks - Challenge #4
My darling friend Kristyn has totally gotten me HOOKED on TI!!! I was a tad busy last week caring for 4 orphaned baby robins that she and I found at my house. Sadly I was unable to participate in Challenge #3 but I am back for #4!!!
I love this one!!! Orange, Yellow and Turquoise!! Such a cute combo!! I went simple this week as both the colors and image speak pretty loudly!! I love Smoochie...I remember saying the first time that I saw TI's site "that image is AWESOME!".
I colored Smoochie with my Copics and Prismacolor markers, layered and layered and layered some of my most favorite DP and filled in Smoochie's lips with Judi-Kins Diamond Glaze. I let it all dry overnight and voila!!
I hope you enjoy!! And come play along!!
There's also an awesome freebie that Christy has generously offered up on the TI PCP page!!
Come join!!

Smeared Ink - You're Stuck With Me
Yes, it's dark...yes...it's creepy and yes...it's awesome. The Carnies stamp set from Smeared Ink simply rules. I simply love it because it is FAR from your standard run of the mill stamp company. Terra and Tori think differently, draw differently and rock Smeared Ink hardcore.
My creation today is a card made with the "twins" from The Carnies set. I used the sentiment that comes with the set "You're Stuck With Me". Fitting...don't you think?
The girls are colored with my Copics. The circles on the left were punched out of a variety of scrap DP I pulled from my stash and heavily stitched randomly. I then used a few rub ons for added detail on the left hand side while I stamped my sentiment on the right.
I used a crumply piece of satin ribbon that I had in my stash and stamped that as well with my sentiment. I was debating on whether or not to iron the ribbon before affixing it to my card but knew I was going with a distressed look so I kept it "messy".
I hope you enjoyed my creation!! Pop over to Smeared Ink and don't forget to come join our forum!!! Challenges, swaps, inspiration OH MY!

QKD New Release Tuesday Hop!!!! 2010 May WIS Kit!!! Week 2 of Newness!
Another Happy New Tuesday Hop Everyone!! I'm so excited to bring you this new GORGEOUS newness from Maigan-Lynn straight from the Castle to you!!!
But first...if you've come here from the WIS blog then you are on the right track!! If not please start HERE so that you don't miss anything new!!
Today we worked with the following sketch:
I decided to work with the elements within the 2010 May WIS kit. I chose the flower arrangement as well as the beautiful and so true sentiment "live for today". My card base is the cover of an old pamphlet that I had from a vintage store local to me. I used bits of cardstock from my scrap drawer to create the backing for the gorgeous flowers which I've colored with my Copics.
Next, I used some scraps from my new project last week so you'll notice some tonal similarities. Reduce and reuse my friends!! =)
My sentiment is punched out using my SU! word punch and adhered to one layer of oval die cut cardstock. That layer is then popped up using 3-D foam adhesive onto a 2" oval punch out of a vintage-esque looking paper.
I love how this came out and I hope it inspires you! Now off you go to Anita's blog for some delicious goodness!!
Thanks for visiting and don't forget that QKD is now all in grey, laser etched rubber!! Wait until you see the intricate detail when you stamp!! It is TRE-FABU!!
Till next time!!
XOXO

Tiddly Inks Blog Hop!!
I am so excited to be here with you today participating in Tiddly Inks blog hop!!! First off, if you came from Maria's blog then you are on the right track!!
I just realized as I'm posting this that I was supposed to use one of the Bugg girls!! But I printed out this Gothic Cutie - Always The Flower Girl. It's one of my most favorite TI images. But believe me...there are LOTS of favorites on MY list! You must hit the store and check it out!!
I printed my image on PTI white cardstock and colored her with my Copic markers. I then used a variety of DP that a dear friend JUST dropped off to me today (love newness to play with!!)
I then added the many layers to my card base of PTI smokey shadow cardstock. My sentiment 'sigh' was added using Basic Grey adhesive letters.
I decided at the end to straight stitch in black the entire way around my image and purposefully through the sentiment.
I truly hope you enjoy hopping along today! I KNOW you will be seeing some amazing creations!!!
Your next stop from me is onto Trish's blog!!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving some love!! I hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

Smeared Ink - Vintage Love
Hey All!!! I'm here this evening to show off one of my VERY favorite cards. I made this card for my Perfect Pinup assignment on the Smeared and Smudged Network for our fabulous Smeared Ink Design Team!!
I've had this stock image in my stash for a while. I printed it on ivory cardstock to give it an even more vintage vibe. I was going to stitch around the border but the image is so crisp and beautiful that I didn't want to detract from it in any way. I almost didn't put the hearts on the right side but opted to for a little added dimension.
I used MS hot mango cardstock (that's the color I call it) layered with one of my favorite paper companies of all time Basic Grey. I then matted my image with solid black cardstock. I added the (ready you kids (self included) kids of the 80's?) "puffy stickers" to the right hand side.
Before I added the entire layer to the orange base I ran sheer, chiffon, gold ribbon along the left hand side. Rather than a bow or knot I decided to fold the ribbon in half, wrap it over the card front and feed the 2 loose ends through the loop that was created by folding the ribbon in half. Similar to how you might feed ribbon or twine through a tag? I did it this way so that it would lie flat when standing up.
I added my image and then my sentiment 'Love Me' in chocolate brown sparkly letter stickers.
I'm simply in love with this card....
Hope you enjoy and are inspired.

QKD New Release Tuesday Hop!!!! 2010 May WIS Kit!!!
Happy New Tuesday Hop Everyone!!
I had the SHEER pleasure of working with the May WIS kit featuring Suri in all of her beauty!! I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to make it work better for my main image. I wanted to stay with summery colors of yellow and orange accented with blues and greens. So, per usual, I went first to my scrap drawer first.
I pulled out my last remaining piece of my Love, Elsie self-adhesive fabric "paper" and set my Copic colored image that I'd layered with yellow on top of it. The blue just made it all POP!!
I then ran a strip of blooming yellow DP behind it all and criss crossed it with a vingage-esque piece running horizontally. I used similar vibe vintage ribbon as my accent, matted with royal blue cardstock.
I used the sentiment JOY from this set punched out with my SU! word punch.
This is truly a set you cannot miss grabbing before it is gone!!!
And check out what's also going on at the Castle!!!

My Motto? Craft or DIE!!
Can you believe that tomorrow is MAY??? Seriously?? It seems like yesterday that we were making holiday posts!!! Jeesh! It's fantastic!! May is a great month...heck...it's the gateway month to SUMMER! YAY!!!
Anyway - I have a little cutie patootie here for you. I have been waiting, and waiting and waiting to create with this CRAFT OR DIE stamp. It is my FAVORITE in the Goth category....since the say Vicki put it on the shelves at QKD!!!
I went to my scrap drawer (as I always do ESPECIALLY with a DIS creation...it's where the best inspiration lies!) And I just grabbed a little of this, a little of that, some solid cardstock for the card base and VOILA!
I stamped CRAFT OR DIE in Momento Tuxedo Ink. I then colored everything with my Copic and Prismacolor markers. I put in a brad on each bird's wing for some added dimension. I crumpled up my argyle layer and stitched it down to the card. I backed my main layer with cherry and skull paper using my corner rounder on layers one and two.
I then grabbed some PTI DP and cut a variety of circles (my new 'thing' lately) and arranged them on the top of the card. I used a few silver pearls that I had for a little blinggity bling.
I truly hope you enjoyed my creation today!!! Head off to The Castle to see the coolness all around!
Happy Weekend everyone!!
XOXO-
Meredith
