With Sympathy...

My dear neighbor recently lost one of her beautiful, furry friends.  A gorgeous fawn Great Dane by the name of Zsa Zsa.  She was a sweet and gentle soul of 8 years and we're all so sad at her passing.  The loss of a pet can be so devastating and I wanted to let her know how sorry we were.  I had the perfect MFT (older) stamp to create a sympathy card for her.
I used the sketch from a couple of weeks ago to inspire me.
I dusted off my Copics (yes - they have been sitting dormant for about a year) and dove in!  It took me about 8 days from start to finish to complete this card.  Having a six month old (plus 2 older kiddies) leaves very little time for crafty fun but I just kept chipping away at it slowly.  I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Ink and colored it in.  I kept everything VERY simple and easy.  I did, however, also dust my sewing machine off and put that back into action for the heart and perimeter of the main panel.  I used my deliciously fun Prismacolor pencils to create the grass and some fun paper strips for the little flags.
I used my favorite and always reliable Signo Uniball white gel pen for the faux stitching on the outside of my panels.  The scallop was created using MFT's Wonky Scallop Die-namics and the heart is from the Hearts-a-Plenty Die-namics

My almost 9 year old daughter also created a BEAUTIFUL card to share:
So sweet and I loved her 3-D flower stickers!!

I hope you all have a wonderfully crafty day!!  Until next time my friends!!!

Smashing Kaylee

Greetings Oddies!!  Here again bringing you another amazing set from Some Odd Girl!  Today's release highlights the gorgeous Kaylee and her new fun filled closet
In lieu of a card today I decided to create a smash page using this gorgeous gal!
It's a mini Smash book - about 5"x 7" or so.  Just the right size and place to use lots of bits and leftover scraps.  I inked Kaylee in Momento ink and colored her with my Copics.  I then paper pieced her adorable dress as well as the white trim on the bottom.
I LOVE the versatility of this set as there's so many unbelievable options!!  I used all kinds of bits and bobs from a variety of sources in my stash.  Bottlecap embellies, resin flowers, rhinestone bling, mini paperclips, rosette trimmed ribbon and Washi tape.  Most papers are from Amy Tangerine.
I used lots of stitching to add extra texture.
My sentiment is from my very favorite Under The Sea Mae set.

Thanks for coming by again today!!  I hope you are enjoying this new release as much as I am!

MFT - Wednesday Stamp Club

Happy rainy Sunday!!  I am just so beyond thankful for the rain that's about to come here in the Northeast as my lawn, plants and garden so desperately need it!  And, at the end of a long vacation week home with my two super active kiddies, this Mommy needs a bit of crafty respite and a grey day is just perfect for that!  Today's creation is for the most recent MFT sketch challenge.
I dug through all of my MFT stamps as I have quite a few that I (gulp) have never inked!  So today I'm using the adorably sweet Little Lamb - Better Together set.  It is impossibly sweet for many occasions.
I started first by pulling my papers from MME together, along with my brads, cork and ribbon.  I then settled in to color the image, which is stamped with Momento, with my Copics.  I used some light grey tones and then my Floral and Brick white Copics to create their sweet fur and then pulled in the orange and brown tones to create shading with teeny tiny dots.  I truly adore this treatment and think it looks just so cute!  After coloring I paper pieced each of their pants, tops and tiny left hand of the lamb on the right.  I added this panel to my card using some fabulous Jody Boosters
I used my favorite self-adhesive cork for the Wonky Scalloped Die-namics edge, lots of fun and somewhat subtle stitching and mini black brads to anchor my corners.  I am SO loving on the new Fishtail Flag STAX Die-namics!!  If you don't have them you simply MUST grab them up right here!  I promise you, they are a fantastic staple to have in your creative arsenal.  I paired my creation with some black and white check ribbon tied in a fluffy bow in lieu of the circle element as shown in the sketch.
I finished off the interior using the second half of the sentiment and I added a couple of Stacking Star Die-namics that I already had cut and leftover on my desk.  Love when that happens!
I added one with a dab of adhesive and the other is popped up on a Jody Booster
Thanks for popping by today!  I hope you have enjoyed my creation and that you'll come play along with this amazing sketch right here

Wednesday Stamp Club - Happy Birthday

Greetings MFT friends and fans!!!  One last sketch challenge for me before I pass my Guest Designer hat onto the next amazing Guest Designer Angela!!  Her project totally rocked and her win is very well deserved!!

The sketch today has SO many amazing possibilities as demonstrated by the gorgeous samples by the MFT Design Team here at Kim's blog.

I went very masculine with my creation today as I need a card for my lovely Father-In-Law for his birthday.   I've used my favorite papers from Basic Grey that I always reach for when I need these types of cards.

I used SU! Bravo Burgundy as my card base, along with some navy and light blue cardstock for my matting purposes.  I used one of my very favorite MFT stamp set "go-tos" Finishing Flourishes.  I chose a flourish and inked it in Pure Poppy Brilliance Ink.  I then heat set it with clear embossing powder.  For a bit of interest, I twisted the flourish around as I stamped rather than having it facing the same way each time.

In lieu of the banner style that the sketch suggests, I took a blank tag and ran it through my die cutting machine using the Wonky Scallop Border Die-namics with my Sizzix.  I then added my sentiment in black Colorbox ink and again, heat set it with clear embossing powder.   I tied a bit of navy ribbon at the end where the original tag string had been.
I kept my interior very simple inking a different flourish in Grey SU! ink and adding a matching scrap of plaid BG paper.
I, once again, have to thank all of you for your very sweet and kind comments that you left me during Teaser Time.  MFT has the best customers, fans and friends!!
