Welcome to Letterpress Education. This site provides information about letterpress printing and is a repository of information for Jeff Pulaski, faculty member at Wichita State University. If you are looking for the Letterpress Education Flash site, click here. This is a Flash website developed in 2008 as part of my MFA Thesis project at Kansas State University. Since the demise of Flash, it has sat dormant, but recently I ran across a Flash Emulator that makes everything work again (except for some font issues). If you are curious about the site, you will need to install a Flash Emulator, I used Ruffle (https://ruffle.rs/). The site has a number of informative sections devoted to letterpress information including a brief history, terms, information on tools and presses (including a few animated presses), video tutorials (well, just one for now) and a small gallery. If you are interested in the materials from the 2010 College Art Association Conference in Chicago, Ill, click here. A link to my CV website used for tenure and promotion purposes at Wichita State can be found here. My research into Rev. Enoch Prouty, inventor of the Prouty Power Press, will eventually be located here also. |
