Baskin-Robbins Easter Egg Hunt Ice Cream Review and $1.31 Scoops at Baskin-Robbins Today

Thanks to a tip from GrubGrade, we know that Baskin-Robbins is doing $1.31 scoops on the 31st day of the month this year (so the 31st of January, March, May, July, August, October, and December). It seems like a great excuse to try the very green "Easter Egg Hunt" ice cream that Baskin-Robbins launched last year.

Nick visits Ben & Jerry's : Day 1

For those who don't know, I was invited to Vermont for a VIP experience courtesy of Ben & Jerry's. Now I'll admit, Friendly's has been cranking out so many different flavors that I don't even bother posting all the pictures we collect, but pineapple bits in the strawberry side? That's just silly. [Note: Pineapples are a part of their in-store royal banana split, but I find it amusing that they took the time to shove them in to this form factor].

Nestle Butterfinger Drumsticks

These technically came out at the end of 2014, it's the S'mores version that is new for 2015. I'm not sure when we'll actually get to review these but know that I think about them often.... I'll probably pick them up once the weather gets a bit nicer so I can enjoy them outside. Nothing like a drumstick on a nice warm spring or summer day.

Gelato Fiasco Espresso Chip Gelato

[By Nick] ‎Remember back in November when I went to Maine and visited the fine folks at The Gelato Fiasco? Well while I was there, I also tried their God of Thunder coffee. That's easily the greatest name for coffee but it was also some of the best coffee I've ever had. It could've been all in my head after sampling so many sweets throughout the day, the coldness from walking around Maine or just being in that area. However, I've yet to have a black coffee as good as theirs. Why do I mention this? Well because I'm reviewing this!

The Nosh Show Episode 50

Oh man, where does the time go? It just keeps flying on by without a care for my to-do list. I mean, can you believe we made it to Episode 50 of the Nosh Show already? I know it's literally just a number, but we're all conditioned to think that 50 of anything is a big deal.

Speaking of time flying by, my Nosh of the Week was Dunkin Donuts February special.... that I picked up on Sunday, March 1st. It was dumb luck that my local DD was still making these and I have to say that the brownie batter donuts are amazing. It's a chocolate covered donut filled with a chocolate frosting like substance and I was entranced with every bite. I also tried the cookie dough donut (the one their with chocolate chips on top) about an hour later but it just didn't click the same way. One, the frosting drowns out the filling, and two, the filling doesn't really taste like cookie dough. It's sweet, but it's more gooey (less gritty) than the brownie batter filling. Oh well, at least me and the Mrs. tried them before it was too late.

Walgreens Maple Macadamia Mash-Up Trace Adkins Celebrity Apprentice Ice Cream

[Debuted 2013, was available in a de-branded state] I don't know why, but I'm excited about this flavor. I had stopped over at the bigger Walgreens to pick up their S'mores ice cream when I was shocked to see both of the Celebrity Apprentice flavors still on the shelf. And these are fresh pints too with far out expiration dates. I've haven't noticed them at the smaller Walgreens, and I know the latest season of CA is already over, but when ice cream pints are 2 for $4, there is something liberating about trying something risky.

[New for early 2015] Let's not beat around the bush here, this all natural ice cream is what ice cream should be. You know what I hate most about frozen dairy desserts? Sure it's cheap and often low cal & low fat, but it's gummy and full of food science. The thing that drives me truly nuts though? It's warm. It doesn't hold the cold like the ice creams I remember as a kid. From the very first bite of this one I thought "wow that's cold". Think I'm crazy ?
