On Saturday afternoon at New York Comic Con, Audible, the leading creator and provider of premium audio storytelling, hosted an official panel, “Earp to Ear: Wynonna Earp's Adventures Continue on Audible,” giving attendees a behind-the-scenes look into the new Audible Original series, Wynonna Earp: Tales from PurgatoryThe panel reunited original “Wynonna Earp” television series cast members Melanie Scrofano (“Wynonna Earp”), Tim Rozon (“Doc Holliday”), and Katherine Barrell (“Nicole Haught”), all of whom star in the new Audible Original, along with writer Emily Andras (creator, producer, writer of the television series Wynonna Earp),

  • Melanie Scrofano (“Wynonna Earp”) on the new aspects of her character’s development in the Audible series: “While Wynonna’s perspective usually drives the narrative, for the first time, we see her listen to someone else’s experiences, It adds an interesting dimension to her character and the story.”

On Saturday evening, Audible hosted an invite-only immersive celebration at Porchlight to commemorate the release of Wynonna Earp: Tales from Purgatorywhich is now available, exclusively from Audible. “Wynonna Earp” superfans joined the cast and creator for an enchanting evening featuring a delightful mix of bites, drinks, and live music. The event offered attendees an unforgettable experience, savoring delectable treats and enjoying an atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of Purgatory.

How the Genre’s Greatest Writers and Narrators Take Listeners on the Ride of Their Lives,” highlighting some of the world’s best science fiction authors and performers and the unique and creative ways that words come alive through Audible performances. OCTOBER 21, 2024 -  New York Comic Con (NYCC) wrapped up the ultimate celebration of pop culture this weekend, as more than 200,000 attendees made their way through the Javits Center from October 17 through October 20 to experience the best of fandom, from a star-studded celebrity lineup, to iconic comic creators, must-have merch, and so much more.  With scores of fans making their way to the Big Apple from across the country, this year’s NYCC is projected to have generated an estimated economic impact of $80 million for New York City, according to New York City Tourism + Conventions.  

 

Among the stand-out guests and programming at this year’s show, highlights included panels filled with exciting announcements, sneak peeks, and trailer drops from some of the most popular and anticipated series including HBO’s The Penguin, Apple TV+’sShrinking, Starz’ OutlanderThe Lord of the Rings: The War of RohirrimThe Walking DeadUniverse, Disney+’s Goosebumps, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, HBO’s Dune: Prophecyand Netflix’s The Electric Stateappearances by major stars like Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Orlando Bloom, John Boyega, and cast members from House of the Dragon, and never-before-seen clips from upcoming films including M3GAN 2.0Venom: The Last Dance, Karate Kid: Legend, and more.  Seats filled for panels featuring discussions from the best in comics with programming like Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing,  Moon Man Panel featuring Kid Cudi, Charlamagne Tha God Presents ILLuminati - Hip-Hop and Comics Collide in New AWA Graphic Novel, IDW Publishing: The Next 25 YearsFears, and others.  

 

The show floor was buzzing with con-goers looking to get their hands on the hottest merch from over 650top exhibitors like FunkoBandaiThrillJoy, Marvel,Penguin Random HouseScholasticCapcomWebtoon, and others, while over 500 Artist Alleyparticipants filled the show floor, featuring the fan-favorite works of Jeff Lemire, Dexter Vines, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Frank Cho, Jimmy Palmiotti,and Tom Taylor, and many more. 

 

Cosplay took center stage at the Cosplay Central Crown Championships qualifier competition on October 19, where cosplayers from the region showed off their astounding craftsmanship for a chance to be selected to be in the running for the Global Cosplay Central Crown in 2025.  Third place went to A Rad One Cosplay as Din Djarin from The Book of Boba Fett, while second place went to Caity Stella Cosplay as Cinderella from Fairy Tales.  Patterner Cosplay as Firesong K’Treva from Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey was crowned this year’s NYCC champion.  The event, which was emceed by one of the biggest names in cosplay, Yaya Han, drew a crowd full of fans to watch as judges Plexi Cosplay, Alliecat Cosplay, and Ludus Cosplay cast their vote for the best of the best of this year’s cosplay.

NYCC will return to the Javits Center next year on October 9-12, 2025. Legendary voices Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, brought the F.U.N. to continue the monumental 25th anniversary celebration of the animated series.

  • An exclusive first look at the stop-motion 25thanniversary special SpongeBob SquarePants, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas” premiering in December on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. In the half-hour special, when one of Sandy’s experiments goes awry, the Cheeks family team up to save Christmas in Bikini Bottom. The special features Craig Robinson as Pa Cheeks, Johnny Knoxville as Randy Cheeks, and Grey Delisle as Ma Cheeks, Granny Cheeks, Rosie and Rowdy reprising their roles as Sandy Cheek’s family from the recently released movie Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.

 

  • A peek at The Patrick Star Show, “Thanks But No Thanksgiving,” where the Stars celebrate Thanksgiving with Bunny’s side of the family in Klopnod, and the reveal of first-look images of the half-hour holiday special “Squidina’s Holidaze Special,” where Squidina has to direct her school holiday play, but her script was mangled by Patrick.

Culver City, CA (October 18, 2024) – This Friday, Crunchyroll held its Industry Panel at New York Comic Con at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Crunchyroll announced several titles coming soon to its streaming service around the world. Those titles included the following:
  • Based on the manga "The Dialect of the Girl I Fell in Love With in Okinawa is Too Difficult to Deal With" created by Egumi Sora, the coming-of-age slice of romance anime, OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She's Saying, is set to stream on Crunchyroll this January 2025. The latest trailer for the upcoming anime series was shown at NYCC. The series is written and directed by Shin Itagaki (So I'm a Spider, So What?) and Shingo Tanabe (I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too), with animation by studio Millepensee (I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too).
    • Synopsis: Teruaki Nakamura recently transferred to school in Okinawa from Tokyo and fell in love with a girl. Unfortunately, he can't understand her dialect! With the help of his new friend Higa-san, Nakamura will experience a cross-cultural romance on the southern island.
  • The upcoming anime adaptation for Go For It, Nakamura-kun!, based on the manga of the same name by Syundei, will be coming soon in 2025 to Crunchyroll. The first trailer and key visual for the high school romance series made their world premiere debut at NYCC. It was also revealed that the director, script writer, and character designer will be Aoi Umeki (Pop Team Epic). The animation will be produced by studio Drive (KONOSUBA: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!To Your Eternity Season 2)
    • Manga Synopsis via Seven Seas: Nakamura is a shy boy who falls in love at first sight with one of his classmates–his dreamy high school classmate, Hirose. But there’s a problem: they haven’t met yet. And Nakamura is a total klutz who might bungle things before they even begin!
  • From author Nazuna Miki, light novel illustrator Kabocha, and manga illustrator Rio Akisaki comes the anime adaptation of I’m a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic, which was announced to arrive on Crunchyroll in January 2025 along with a trailer. The series is directed by Kenichi Ishikura (Sakura Trick) and the series composition is written by Tatsuya Takahashi (The Faraway Paladin). The animation is being produced by Studio DEEN (2001’s Fruits Basket; Sasaki and Miyano; KONOSUBA -God's blessing on this wonderful world!) and Marvy Jack (Spice and Wolf II).
    • Synopsis: While innocently enjoying himself after work, one man’s life changes forever. He wakes in the body of Liam Hamilton, the youngest son of a noble house on the brink of collapse. Amid the chaos, Liam realizes he finally has time to learn and practice magic. Once he begins, it takes his life for an even bigger turn. Can Liam master magic and save his noble family? The aristocratic fantasy begins!
  • Additionally, following the thrilling conclusion of HIGH CARD Season 2, it was confirmed that HIGH CARD Special Episode “THE FLOWERS BLOOM” will be coming to Crunchyroll on November 5.The animation is produced by TMS Entertainment (2019's Fruits BasketYowamushi PedalKamisama Kiss).
    • Synopsis: After discovering X-Playing Cards, powerful cards that grant powers, pickpocket Finn is recruited by High Card, a secret group sworn to protect and collect them. This deck has been scattered throughout the kingdom of Fourland. Moonlighting at luxury carmaker Pinochle, this squad's set out to play the most dangerous game of 52 pickup. But they gotta get them before rival carmaker Who's Who!

Along with the exciting new lineup of titles coming to Crunchyroll, an all-new trailer for ZENSHU made its world premiere debut during the Industry Panel. Animated by MAPPA, who is best known for JUJUTSU KAISENChainsaw ManAttack on Titan Final Season, and the remake of Ranma ½, the original anime series ZENSHU will be premiering in January 2025 on Crunchyroll. It is directed by Mitsue Yamazaki (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle; How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) with a script written by Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon; 2024’s Ranma ½).
  • Synopsis: After graduating from high school, Natsuko Hirose starts her career as an animator. Her talent quickly flourishes, and she makes her debut as a director in no time. Her first anime becomes a massive hit, sparking a social phenomenon and earning her recognition as an up-and-coming genius director. Her next project is set to be a romantic comedy movie themed around first love! However, having never been in love herself, Natsuko struggles to understand the concept of first love, and as a result, she’s unable to create the storyboard, causing the movie production to come to a standstill.

An all-new trailer for Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, the final season of the beloved franchise, was shown to fans in the audience for a tease of the upcoming first cour. Based on the incredibly inspiring manga written by Riichiro Inagaki (TRILLION GAME) and illustrated by Boichi (Trigun: The Lost Plant), Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE will be coming January 2025 to Crunchyroll. The final season is directed by Shuhei Matsushita (Dr. STONE NEW WORLD). The animation is also produced by TMS Entertainment.
  • Series Synopsis: Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that turns all of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent, science-driven boy, Senku Ishigami, awakens. Crunchyroll also announced launch windows for two Crunchyroll Game Vault titles—a free library of mobile games for Mega and Ultimate Fans. Cyberpunk visual novel PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness and creature collecting life-sim Moonstone Island will launch this October and November, respectively.
  • PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness Synopsis: In a world where psychological states can be quantified, every choice has consequences. Can detectives Nadeshiko Kugatachi and Takuma Tsurugi remain on the path of justice as they face the ugly truths of humanity?

Fans at NYCC also got an exclusive first look at the latest trailer and behind-the-scenes footage of My Hero Academia: Battleground by Gamefam Studios, the first official anime game on Roblox, set to launch soon. Players will be able to explore iconic environments, battle as their favorite characters, and go beyond – Plus Ultra! – in this action-packed adventure inspired by the hit anime series. All episodes of My Hero Academia are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
  • Series Synopsis: Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers.   • Logline: Starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka “The Penguin”), the DC Studios series continues filmmaker Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster “The Batman.” Developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.

(New York – Oct. 17, 2024) Today at New York Comic Con, Disney Branded Television officially revealed the voice cast for the highly anticipated new season of “Phineas and Ferb.” For the first time in over a decade, co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will reunite with the rest of the beloved cast at their NYCC panel today, which also includes exclusive sneak peeks of the new season. “Phineas and Ferb” is scheduled to debut next year on Disney Channel and Disney+.

 

Known for its history of celebrity cameos from fans of the show, “Phineas and Ferb’s” next season will feature new guest appearances from notable actors, musicians, athletes and more. They will join Vincent Martella and David Errigo Jr. as stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, respectively, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, and co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Francis Monogram.

 

The new season of “Phineas and Ferb” will follow the inventive stepbrothers as they tackle another 104 days of summer. Candace is more determined than ever to finally bust her little brothers while their pet platypus, Perry, continues to lead a double life as the suave Agent P whose sole mission is to thwart Dr. Doofenshmirtz from taking over the Tristate area.

 

"Phineas and Ferb" is a five-time Emmy® Award winner and the most successful animated series for Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 in Disney Television Animation history. It premiered officially in January 2008 and became television's No. 1 animated TV series of 2009 among Tweens 9-14 and built to No. 1 among both Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for 2011, along with the franchise's first of two television movies it inspired, "Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension," ranking in TV's Top 2 movies for 2011. The series was a global franchise for Disney, a first for a Disney Channel animated property for older kids. By 2012, its popularity burgeoned with a live touring show and junior novels, with extensions across every consumer products category, including apparel, toys, video games, food, health and beauty. In 2020, “Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe” debuted on Disney+. All four original seasons and the films are currently available on Disney+.
