One of my favourite things about the holidays is spending time with family—whether it’s sharing a meal, snuggling on the couch watching Elf, or simply relaxing together while gazing at the falling snow. My most immediate family consists of my husband and my basset hound who is my best friend. [My basset is actually sitting right next to me while I write this.] Given how much I love my dog, the ornaments on our Christmas tree are probably 50% basset- or dog-related, and this cute ornament would make a wonderful addition. Cast from an original, hand-carved wood master and then hand-painted, this basset ornament is available in tri-colour, red & white, or black & white.
Earlier this season, Mary wrote about holiday tea towels from Spoonflower and showcased some of her favourite designs. Well, while searching for Christmassy basset items on Etsy, I came across this pattern from Spoonflower. Oh my goodness—LOOK AT THE CUTENESS. Featuring tri-colour basset hounds, Christmas puddings, mistletoe, and more festive goodies, this fabric is amazingly adorable. If I knew how to sew, I’d be making myself a dress out of this fabric stat. Purchase this fabric from Spoonflower’s Etsy shop or directly from their website.
In just a few short days, Santa is going to be flying around the world! In thinking about the big guy’s grand journey, I’ve got reindeer on my mind. My favorite reindeer is Raymond, but I also like decorative things that feature reindeer, such as this foil reindeer washi tape. This festive tape would be perfect for wrapping presents, decorating envelopes of Christmas cards, or adding a festive touch to your planner or wall calendar!
When only a hippopotamus will do, wear this super cute Christmas hippo hat! Crocheted by hand, this hat is available in sizes from newborn to adult, so you could buy hats for your entire family and have your own bloat. [Yes, a group of hippos is called a bloat!] For a truly custom cap, you can specify the colours of the braided tails and trim—or even change the colour of the hippo.
Cute and chubby and just a wee bit stumpy, this little penguin pin is simply adorable! Donning a cozy hat and sweater, this fella is bundled up for winter weather. Give this sweet pin to a friend who loves penguins so they can wear it whenever they want to show their affinity for this Antarctic animal.
