It’s been almost a full two years since The Umbrella Academy graced our screens, but the dysfunctional superhero family is finally back. When last we saw them, the Brellies had found themselves trapped in an alternate timeline where their long-deceased patriarch is still alive — and has his own plans for them. Along with some returning favorites, Season 3 introduces a host of rivals in the form of the Sparrow Academy, a mirror version of the Umbrella Academy that doesn’t take too kindly to their counterparts. To prepare you for the showdown, check out this guide to the many fresh and familiar faces of The Umbrella Academy.
Viktor Hargreeves/White Violin/Seven - Elliot Page
The star of Juno and Inception returns as the deadly violinist, now known as Viktor. (Like Page, Umbrella Number Seven has come out as a transgender man.) Page has been one of the centers of The Umbrella Academy for three seasons; you can also see him in Tallulah and in the Netflix mini-series Tales of the City.

Also back — Tom Hopper and his diamond-cut jawline. The actor behind the super-strong astronaut is no stranger to genre television: He appeared as Percival in Merlin, Dickon Tarly in Game of Thrones and Billy Bones in Black Sails. But are any of them half-ape, half-man? We don’t think so.

Sir Reginald Hargreeves/The Monocle - Colm Feore
The not-very-fatherly patriarch of the Umbrella Academy died in the first season; his funeral brings the group back together. But he’s found ways to make his presence known since then. In Season 3’s alternate timeline, he leads the rival Sparrow Academy. Colm Feore, who plays Reginald, is also known for his work in House of Cards, where he plays General Brockhart, and for his role as the district attorney in 2003 Oscar winner Chicago. Ben Hargreeves/The Horror/Six/Sparrow Number Two - Justin H. Min
The Brellies’ deceased, tentacle-toting brother is back in Season 3. But things are a little different: He’s a member of the alternate timeline’s far more professional Sparrow Academy, and not quite as lovable as we remember him. Min can also be seen in this year’s sublime techno-drama After Yang, opposite Colin Farrell.

Marcus Hargreeves/Sparrow Number One - Justin Cornwell
Luther’s Sparrow Academy counterpart is “the leader that Luther always wanted to be,” according to Tom Hopper on The Umbrella Academy Geeked Week panel. Sloane Hargreeves/Sparrow Number Five - Genesis Rodriguez
On The Umbrella Academy Geeked Week panel, the cast revealed that Sloane has the ability to control gravity. Not bad for a newbie! Stanley - Javon Walton
Diego’s son, introduced via some timey-wimey shenanigans in the new season, is played by Javon Walton of Euphoria fame. He’s just like his dad — maybe a little too much like his dad. You may have also seen Walton on the Gillian Flynn television series Utopia.
