Stranger Things: The First Shadow debuted on London’s West End in December 2023. Tickets for that production at the Phoenix Theatre are on sale through Feb. 16, 2025.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is based on an original story by the Duffer brothers, Jack Thorne (who wrote the screenplay for 2022’s Enola Holmes 2, which stars Eleven herself, Millie Bobby Brown) and Kate Trefry, and rooted in the mythology and world of the Stranger Things series. The new play is written by Trefry, directed by Tony winner Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin. The play is produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions. The Duffer brothers act as creative producers, with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen for 21 Laps Entertainment as associate producers.

Curious to see what the play’s all about? Check out the premise below:

“Before the world turned upside down. Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy … and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.”
