Dynamic, light, essential, new…
We called it Carbon-T, the last-born of the DaVinci collection.
A new shell for the innovative cape-less opening mechanism patented by Stipula which, by simply and elegantly turning the barrel, allows a metal half moon to open and gracefully propels the nib outward in writing position.
A new material for its extraordinary use in the fountain pen world: the carbon fibre.
The first carbon fibre with high performances was created in 1958 by Roger Bacon, an American physicist and scientist. The carbon fibre consists of extremely thin fibers structure, several thousands carbon fibers are twisted together to form a yarn, which may be woven into a fabric. Carbon fiber has many different weave patterns and can be combined with different compounds to form composite materials. The high tensile strength, low weight, resistance to temperature variations and to the effect of chemical agents are some of its main properties.
We chose carbon fibre just for these unique technical characteristics of great lightness, discovering and exalting in the shape its outstanding esthetical qualities, well harmonized with the elegant and linear titanium plated metal details and the few but strong plain colour notes: black and, for those who love strong colour contrasts, yellow and red resin.
The carbon fibre has been expressly left in its natural original look, no lacquer or surface treatment has been made so that while touching we can still appreciate its warmth and softness.
The pen has a cartridge/converter system and a 6 mm titanium nib a light and flexible metal that offers great writing qualities. The nib is available in one size only, T-Flex, that allows a perfect handwriting and adapts itself to whatever a pressure
