Dexter Pante will share the development of STRIDE-HR, which is the DepEd Personnel Dashboard ([https://depedbhrodsed.shinyapps.io/PersonnelDB2/](https://depedbhrodsed.shinyapps.io/PersonnelDB2/)). "This dashboard maps the location of all DepEd schools and presents a hover data that contains relevant school information. The dashboard also contains a table that summarizes pertinent school data as well as value boxes that details regional and division item filling-up status."

"As a management tool, it aims to assist Planning Officers and Human Resource and Management Officers (HRMOs) in determining the appropriate and equitable distribution of school-based items in schools. Through visualization of the locations of each school, the dashboard can help Planning Officers and HRMOs provide a better assessment of the status of deployment and make more accurate decisions in the distribution of school-based items in schools."

Dexter "is the Chief of the School Effectiveness Division, Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development. He has been with the Department for more than 20 years. His passion for data and analytics started when he worked under the Planning Service of DepEd. This passion was further reinforced in 2013 when he took Masters in Evaluation at the University of Melbourne where he was first introduced to R programming language."

**Valuation of Residential Real Estate using R**

Transparency is a key element of well-functioning markets. Particularly in markets with heterogeneous and infrequently traded goods such as real estate, independent valuation is thus key to ensure efficient transactions - reducing frictions and risks. In this presentation, I show why and how simple tools like linear regression are used to setup models that are widely respected and used in the industry. While doing so, I shed light on theory, industry priorities, and further applications.

**Concise, Comprehensive, and Customizable Summaries for Machine Learning Models**

In machine learning (ML), transparency and interpretability are key to building trust and supporting informed decisions. Interpretable ML, or Explainable AI, addresses these needs by developing techniques for post-hoc interpretations of trained models. In this talk, I introduce a novel R package focused on performance measures and interpretation methods. Inspired by the well-known *summary()* function for (generalized) linear models in R, the mlr3summary package provides a concise and informative summary of model performance, model complexity, as well as variable importances and effects, for *non-parametric* ML models. By making use of **mlr3** – a rich R package ecosystem for applied ML - the package’s functionality hopefully enhances model transparency and comparability across a wide range of ML applications.

The best parking option will still be the Anderson Parking Structure conveniently next to the Chapman's Keck Center. While street parking is an option, it may require a valid Chapman parking pass depending on the street you're on.

It has been two years since Quarto became the most popular reproducible publication tool in data science and the R community. However, Quarto is so much more than just a publication tool! I started using it in late 2022, and it has helped me become more organized, productive and connected with people in the data science community.
In this talk, I will not focus on the technical aspects of 'how' to use this tool. In the first part of the talk, I would like to report the latest news and trends seen in the useR conference and Posit conf, the two biggest global R events. In the second part, I will share my own experience in using Quarto for my career: from learning new skills, collaborating with co-workers, teaching university courses networking and building a community (CAMIS collaboration). It is a powerful tool to share your work, and make new connections - both for work and for fun! I hope this talk will provide you with some new ideas on how to use this fantastic technology to fulfil your goals.
