A blue notification blinked on my monitor, a silent herald of yet another change. “We have some changes to catch up on in our 1–1 today” it read, failing to mask the undercurrent of corporate churn. I leaned back and exhaled, the taste of last year’s virtual anniversary cake still bland in my memory. Twelve months, three different faces on the other end of these virtual calls — backgrounds and bookshelves blending into a mosaic of impermanence. In this world of glowing screens and cold emails, change has been a persistent guest that never bothered to knock. Each management shift brings with it a new set of buzzwords and priorities, laced with the same hollow promise: “This will be good for us!”
