Pretty Borders

I've been working with THIS cute digikit tonight - it's called 'Holiday Twist Borders' by Holly Brooke Jones.  I knew as soon as I saw this mistletoe border that I wanted to use a LOT of bling with it.  And so I did :)  I also added a cute bird from the Birds of a Feather kit, featured HERE at 2Peas.  I just coloured it in with a red Copic marker and used a Sharpie to add detail.

And this pretty snowflake design is gorgeous.  Here I just pasted it multiple times in Word to create a background paper.

No worries if you are not; I'd still love your feedback and won't take offense :)

Singing in the Rain!

This card is just a quickie I made to show you Michelle Underwood's  Singing in the Rain kit.  It's such a good value kit at 99 cents - I love the papers and I LOVE this birdy. :)  How CUTE!!!

Think I might have to try an 'Under the Weather' card next - the kit has clouds, raindrops and an umbrella too. :)

AND: I love the random giveaways I'm seeing on people's blogs at the moment.  So I thought I'd share the love today too.  Every day you lot make my day perfect with your lovely comments.  So I looked back at my comments and noticed one person had commented on pretty much EVERY one of my posts.  So Alice Wertz, email me for a little gift!  You are so kind!!!

Flowers and Birds

I was totally thrilled to see that a card I submitted to a CARDS magazine blog challenge was featured in the gallery... click here to see it.  The challenge was to create an embellishment out of vintage book paper.  I made the leaves out of an old book, and used distress ink to colour them.  The flower is made using paper from THIS Michelle Underwood kit.  Love that music paper.
Thanks Flower

Embellish It with Owls!

I was thrilled to see my butterfly bling card on the 'What's Hot' list over at Embellish Magazine's blog.  So of course I had to make a card for the new challenge.  The colours are gorgeous, and the theme... OWLS. :)

DSC06407
Supplies: Stamps (owl, sentiment) and Notecard - Hero Arts; PP - Papertrey Ink and October Afternoon; sewing machine; goggle eyes and buttons (from stash)
For a change, I stamped the owl on the back of the patterned paper, and distressed the edges before piecing him together. I put buttons under the goggle eyes for extra dimension. I added brown stitching and a brown stamped sentiment; I even found brown goggle eyes. :)
Happy Sunday to everyone.
P.S. If MOMIJI sees this... scroll down... you won my giveaway!

Butterfly FUN.

Today is Digital Scrapbooking Day over at Two Peas!  I am not a scrapbooker, but I do use a LOT of digital scrapbooking kits and I saw mention of free kits... I'm THERE.
So I thought I'd share a couple of hybrid digital cards today, inspired by THIS gorgeous project of Jennifer McGuire's.
This one is made with Michelle Underwood's gorgeous butterfly kit: HERE.  Love the huge range of butterflies.  I just lined these up on some digital paper (here) and printed a few extra.  I then cut these and layered them on top to create a 3D effect.

My Announcement

So I have a bit of news.
Since I embarked on my digital journey, I have been an admirer / stalker of Michelle Underwood.  She designs the most beautiful digital papers and kits.  So when I saw that she wanted a new Design Team, I was quick to apply.  And I am thrilled to say I was selected.  Woo hoo.

So here is my first Michelle Underwood Design card, made using her newly released kit 'Vintage Holiday Memories'.
Thank You
Supplies: Papers - Michelle Underwood Designs; Stamp and pearls - Hero Arts; Punch - Martha Stewart; Dies - Spellbinders (Labels 1, Labels Trio)
Here, I layered my Labels 1 die cut onto black paper, and hand cut a thin border to help the blue paper stand out more.
Tips:
Resize your digital PP in Word so you do not waste printer ink.
Add stitching to the patterned paper before adhering to your cardbase.  This makes the inside of your card neater.

Thanks Michelle - I am truly honoured to be a part of your team :)
