FRIDAY FAVORITES....HELLO OCTOBER

I'm doing a happy dance, Fall is here, temps wise, it's really here! This week we had temps in the 60's, sunshine and a cool breeze. LOVE it, plus I ate a honey crisp apple everyday!! The other baby comes home form college today so I am one happy mama!! Bring on the football!!

1. Outside Decor
Last week I showed you our inside Fall Decorations Here. Here are a few snippets of the outside decor. I am a symmetrical girl, I like even things on each side like two mums in urns but I'm living on the edge and mixing it up, plus I got a new scarecrow and he won't get as wet on the porch.

2. Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnuts
You know I'm a pumpkin connoisseur and not just any ole pumpkin treat will do but I was blown away by these puppies and they compliment said lattes just perfectly. Moderation however as these pumpkin treats are sabotaging my waistline. Pumpkin Palooza has taken my hostage. Help! lol

5. Casual Day with My Mr.
Saturday, Mr. Nine and I had the BEST afternoon. After a morning of football for the baby boy, just he and I headed North and hour to our favorite Brewery and then to a cool lil town with a Distillery for a cocktail. Then we came home and sat out on our back deck, finished getting ND highlights, then watched a movie. So fun being Cas with my man.

PUMPKIN MONKEY BREAD WITH MAPLE DRIZZLE

I'm sad, its the last day of PUMPKIN PALOOA. No worries, my favorite sweet treats are not going away any time soon but for now, this is my last recipe for the orange love extravaganza. My mom used to make a great monkey bread that I would literally stand over the kitchen counter and devour warm. I knew with the sweet cinnamon taste and brown sugar/butter goodness of monkey bread, that it only made since to add a little pumpkin for the perfect Fall treat.

What you'll need

PUMPKIN MONKEY BREAD WITH MAPLE DRIZZLE

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup butter 

3/4 cup light brown sugar 

1 cup pumpkin purée

1/2 teaspoon salt 

1/2 cup sugar 

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 

2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough, biscuits cut into quarters   

ICING DRIZZLE

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp. Vanilla

2 tsp. Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer

1/4 tsp maple syrup

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add in 3/4 cup brown sugar, pumpkin purée and salt. Whisk until smooth. Remove from heat. In a large bowl, mix sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Add in the biscuit dough pieces and toss in the sugar to coat. 

Place 1/3 of the pumpkin mixture into the bottom of a bundt pan. Arrange half of the biscuit pieces on top and layer in another 1/3 of the pumpkin mixture. Top with the remaining biscuits and then the remaining pumpkin sauce. Place into the oven and bake for 35-45 minutes or until browned on top. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes. While cooking, mix all of the icing drizzle ingredients until smooth. After the 15 minutes, Invert monkey bread onto a plate. Drizzle with the icing and serve.

LET'S TALK: ENTERTAINMENT

Let's Talk Entertainment with Andrea and Erika! Whether Netflix, prime time TV, the lounger movie theater, magazines, books, bloggers, concerts, music; we have a plethora of entertainment these days. Really anything at your fingertips and I happen to LOVE it all!!! I am a child of the 70's, teen of the 80's so you know how different we had it back in the day. As a kid, encyclopedias were my jam!! We had 2 tube TV's with 3 channels, 4 with PBS. No remote, had to get up to change it every.single.time!! Yet, we never complained. Drive in movie theater night and a brown bag of dads home popped popcorn was such a treat and music was on vinyl or 8 track. Things are different now, some say better, sometimes you feel not, but choices abound, that's for sure.

I told you about my top 3 favorite movies of all time HERE. I could literally make this post a mile long with all the entertaining type things we enjoy, but I won't bore you, instead I'll throw out some of my favorites in various categories. It's a mishmash for sure cause this category had my head spinning. 

Books

Way too many books to choose from but one thing I will say, since two are away at college, I am reading much more than the past few years and loving it.

I LOVE TV, sometimes I feel like current shows are not as good as the ones I loved growing up but there are still plenty of goodies. My husband and I DVR so many shows it's almost full.

FRIDAY FAVORITES....HELLO FALL

Yeah more like Summer is still here and I just gave you a teaser of two mornings last week in the 50's. Been gorgeous but way too warm to wear what I really want to. Amanda and I have had to drink our PSL's iced and I'm worried about my pumpkins in the heat.

Ya know moms, moms to be, wives and girlfriends when you're feeling under appreciated, like you do, do, do and no one even notices. I feel that way a lot with my kids. However, out of the blue on Tuesday, I got this text: My son at college sent me a text with a cartoon of himself for his ole' mama. Melted my heart....

.... made me realize that even when I feel I am not appreciated, I am.
