the story of us
The thing I love about this blog is that when I actually drag myself to the keyboard and begin to type the memories begin pouring out. The photos tell the story and they hold the moments close so that months from now I can look back and remember that beginning of 2014 was of course busy, but also pretty wonderful.
I have been trying to Facetime with nieces each weekend because only through their faces do I notice how quickly time passes. Time has been a strange concept lately and has never moved faster. I've been trying to find a balance, mostly unsuccessfully, and find that the days and nights are blurs of activity and rushing around. It's only when I talk to them each week do I feel the need to slow down and embrace the smaller moments - like hearing them laugh, play the guitar or roll over for the first time.
I've also been trying to pick up the camera more, something that lately hasn't intrigued me but it is the only way that I can remember what the hell we've been up to right? So here is yet another random collection that when pieced together tells the story of us, well at least our story one random week in March. It involves time in the photography studio to check out some behind the scenes food styling, a Bloom Series class, couch time reading and an impromptu trip to Manly. That's us, in photos, for now.

Summer Camp: Gerrigong
Jimmy and I packed the car and headed down to the South Coast after work and almost instantaneously any trace of stress disappeared as soon as the city was in our back view mirror. We didn't do much of anything - which was exactly the plan - but we sat around and talked, ate cheese and crackers, listened to music and went to bed at 9pm...what more could you ask for? The next day we did it all over again except managed to venture out to pick up the paper and grab some coffee before spending the day at the beach. It was the perfect weekend camping escape and I hope we can squeeze in one more trip before winter returns...

saying goodbye to sydney summer
A collection (random at best) of recent memories, mostly of our quickly fading summer. I have to admit I love the change of seasons. Autumn and winter here are nothing compared to the endless grey misery that Boston winters behold so instead I fully embrace this cooler weather and welcome with open arms the chance to break about boots and 'fall' clothes.
Still, I will miss those amazing Australian beach days and summer nights that I've grown to love so while the weather is still warm I'm going to try and stretch them out for as long as I can.
Moments captured here: Laneway discoveries on my daily walk to catch the train to work, nothing beats an afternoon basking in the sun at Harro's place, a new quilt I'm slowly piecing together and Pimms and pico de gallo on the balcony, just because.
