Tiger Brands is transforming spaza stores into eye-catching township billboards with vibrant murals showcasing its beloved brands such as ACE, Golden Cloud, Oros, and KOO. This multimillion-rand initiative is part of the food producer’s informal trade expansion, and aims to brand 2,000 stores by 2029. The first 50 stores, located in Soweto, Alexandra, and Tembisa, feature stunning artwork by local artists. Tiger Brands’ presence in the informal sector continues to grow rapidly.   #GeneralTrade #TownshipEconomy

We’re excited to share the results from the Gauteng provincial semi-finals of the Africa & Middle East Gender Mainstreaming Awards where Lydia Sagonda was recognised as a Finalist in the Positive Role Model category in the Manufacturing sector and Liezel Holmes announced as the Winner of the Positive Role Model category in the Manufacturing sector, proceeding to the National finals in October. The Positive Role Model category honours women that are advancing their careers while inspiring and empowering others to do the same. The Gender Mainstreaming Awards encourage the private sector to achieve meaningful representation of women in business. They highlight gender mainstreaming's impact across Africa and celebrate excellence in promoting gender diversity.   “Our goal is clear: to build a diverse, talented workforce aligned with our mission to nourish and nurture lives daily. We aim for an inclusive, agile environment that inspires every Tiger to excel each day,” S’ne Magagula (CHRO).   #IgniteYourTomorrow #NourishAndNurture

The team was welcomed by Our Chief People Officer, S’ne Magagula who highlighted the importance of this partnership and our commitment to continuing to foster strategic relationships that strengthen our ability to build robust talent pipelines for the future and continue to grow our own timber for Tiger Brands and for South Africa. Nkosodumo Mfini (Managing Director: Culinary) spoke about his passion for developing our people and the need to focus on building critical skills that support our growth agenda. Our Peanut Butter Plant Manager, Harris Mtare took us on a journey through the history of this iconic brand and how Black Cat has evolved over the years fueled by our spirit of innovation and our culture of consumer obsession. We are so proud of our young talent who shared their journeys and success stories which uplifted the audience. Our future is in good hands with this next generation of leaders! At Tiger Brands we are excited to help empower 450 schools, this year, to create sustainable food gardens through our support for EduPlant, South Africa’s largest school greening programme by Food & Trees for Africa. EduPlant combines theory and practical gardening skills, encouraging learners to replicate gardens at home and in their communities. In the 2024/25 EduPlant cycle, alumni schools that have been exemplary in their food gardening practices will act as Centres of Excellence and offer mentorship to other schools to help improve each school’s chances of establishing a thriving garden. On the 18th of July, some of the Tiger Brands' Corporate Affairs team members supported the Helen Joseph Hospital's Mandela Day initiative, by sponsoring and packing refreshments that were distributed to University of Johannesburg students. Student volunteers assisted with cleaning the various wards at the hospital demonstrating their dedication to community service. In the spirit of Mandela Day, Tiger Brands aim was to strengthen the sense of community and shared responsibility amongst volunteers, corporates and the broader public. #MandelaDay #NourishAndNurture
