Because empowered utilities create healthy cities and improve lives
About us
What do we do? We empower utilities and improve lives. Water and sanitation services in the developing world struggle to keep up with rapidly growing urban demand. ROCKBlue aims to solve this growing gap between service and increased demand. We are a nonprofit with a large network of highly experienced specialists. ROCKBlue aims to strengthen the capabilities of water and sanitation utilities to provide these services to the poorest in cities and towns across the developing world. ROCKBlue accomplishes this mission through respectful and mutually beneficial partnerships with both public utilities in the developing world and with the international donors and lenders supporting these utilities. We believe that utilities are the backbones of cities – we believe that empowered utilities create healthy cities and improve lives.

The The World Bank's latest report highlights a critical $130+ billion annual funding shortfall in the water sector. With millions still lacking access to clean water and sanitation, it's time for urgent action. At ROCKBlue, we strengthen urban utilities to provide sustainable, affordable water services, improving lives and fostering economic growth. Join us in advocating for increased investment and efficient spending. Together, we can create a water-secure future for all. Check out the full report and infographic below. Thanks to Cate Lamb for sharing! #WaterSecurity #UrbanUtilities #SDG6 #CleanWater #SanitationForAll
The World Bank has just dropped an important piece of research highlighting the funding gap that exists in the #water supply and sanitation sector in all countries. The report paints a stark picture of a sector that is woefully off track in achieving #SDG6 and highlights the shocking fact that almost a 1/4 of the money allocated to the sector is actually left on the table - unspent! This is despite over 2 billion people still not having adequate access. The report also highlights that of the funds directed towards the sector, just 2% comes from #private finance and is it any wonder? The image below goes some way to explaining why this is the case. Investing in the water sector is an ideal prospect for plenty of patient, private finance houses and the more we can shift the sector into shape, the more the money will flow. The solutions needed aren't radical, we aren't waiting for new technology to be invented, we just need #governments to prioritise and value water and we need them to do this now - #G7WaterCoalition. Read the report here: https://lnkd.in/eeWdNiiy Great job by all involved in this work. Last week, we wrapped up another successful PAWS (Performance Achievement Workshop Series) session. PAWS helps utility partners tackle the unique challenges, helping them improve production and efficiency while reducing costs. Through expert guidance and personalized support, participants gain valuable insights and connections to enhance their operations going forward. Thanks to VEI and UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) for their presentations on Communities of Practice associated with the Global Water Operators Partnerships. Keep an eye out for additional updates and insights from this month's session, while we look forward to yet another PAWS workshop coming up later this year. #CleanWater #WaterSecurity #GlobalDevelopment #UrbanWASH #GlobalPartnerships
