We're proud to say that the Aurora Tech Award core team and our juries consist entirely of women. We believe this is crucial if we want to be true representatives of our values, where diversity is paramount. After all, who are we without our principles, right? As a collective, we've decided that including an executive-level individual on our judging panel would make us stand out. Please meet our final jury member, Tatiana Terentieva, General Counsel of inDrive, the parent brand for the Aurora Tech Award. She was born in the distant region of Sakha, the northern part of Siberia, with almost half of it located above the Arctic Circle. This means Tatiana’s character was shaped by very severe and extreme weather and socio-economic conditions. As a representative of a small national ethnicity, Tatiana managed to bring her values into the professional field at inDrive, becoming an accomplished legal professional in 2015. Her two main passions that she has been pursuing throughout her journey are Philology and Law. While the science of language and literature can be quite universal, studying law is a never-ending challenge for someone who started in the eastern hemisphere and then went all the way to California. In order to make a huge leap towards her future, she completed the Stanford LEAD program in 2022. Tatyana is our rock who has never failed us and has always inspired the Aurora Tech Award team. Patriarchal settings haven’t stopped her from becoming a great leader. These are values that we will always cherish, no matter what. 👉Want to see more mission driven women in one room? Both projects and individuals doing excellent things, using digital technology to generate positive outcomes for our people and planet. These are the ‘Champions’ of our region and as an organisation, Tech4Good South West wants to shine a light on this amazing work! We are thrilled to announce the launch of the brand-new tech for good recognition showcase, spotlighting the change makers making a positive social impact across the region through the power of tech. This showcase recognises people, teams, projects and organisations from across the South West for their tech for good achievements. These are our Tech4Good South West Champions! Anyone can get involved on behalf of their chosen champion and the first round of the initiative is now open to nominations on the site (https://lnkd.in/exh98YkM) We are looking for organisations and individuals who are utilising digital technology as a force for good in the world, creating equal opportunities for all to thrive. The champions will be selected that align with one or more of Tech4Good South West guiding principles: 🌍 Inclusivity and accessibility for all 🌍 Ethical use of data 🌍 Protecting the planet 🌍 Empowering innovation 🌍 Regional collaboration 🌍 Capacity building 🌍 Continuous improvement I know and have worked with many folk and companies where impact is at the heart of everything they do and at T4GSW it’s essential that we celebrate the change-makers in the South West and acknowledge the potential positive impact they are having. Technology has the potential to offer so many people wide-ranging opportunities. It can break down barriers to accessibility and address the digital divide that society is facing. Hello All, Following up on my post last week about what affects people moving into a career in Tech, BAE Digital Intelligence in partnership with InnovateHer has put a spotlight on how exposure to Tech in schools can and will be an important way to help promote diversity and give people a better framework to start their careers and bring down the roadblocks for a job in the tech industry.
