Hi
How do I put in a service request for better service? My coworkers tell me this part of southern California used to have gold Verizon service but now it is poor!
Thank you
Rod
Great to see The Careers & Enterprise Company and Karl Grimes working to keep CEIAG in SLTs' thinking. An expert review process, used proportionately, is wise but facilitating peer review/learning between CLs will be hard. The one thing CLs always tell us is they lack time! CEIAG delivery is highly contextual, what works in one school will not in another. And CLs prioritise strengthening their links to employers than to other schools/colleges.
Other suggestions for keeping CEIAG in the spotlight:
1) Focus on Benchmark characteristics rather than total Benchmarks achieved - identify the granular changes a school needs to make.
2) Boost the prominence of CEIAG in (more) Ofsted assessments. CLs tell us that when an Inspector takes CEIAG seriously, so does SLT.
3) How can we encourage CLs to stay in post longer? Most do about 2 years, then move on. This leads to constant relearning of Compass process and new CLs relying on Benchmark scores for reassurance rather than thinking strategically about what their school needs.
4) How can we encourage Ent. Advisers to stay in post longer? Half have <12 months experience as EA. This makes it hard for them to provide strategic challenge to a CL.
This week marks 5 years since wave one Careers Hubs were brought together for the first time. What a journey it has been… Schools and colleges adoption and implementation of the Gatsby Benchmarks has improved significantly. 92% of schools and colleges in Careers Hubs, students reporting they are more career ready and Careers Hubs embedded into local skills agendas. To top it off this week my team launch the evaluation of the Careers Impact Sysyem. As one of the first Careers Hub Leads it was an honour to lead the Greater Manchester Careers Hub. I am now privileged to work with Careers Hubs across England. What next? The sky’s the limit!
Special shout out to the wave one Careers Hub leads still leading Careers Hubs. Gerarde ManleyGemma PerkinsPaul WilliamsAngela MooreCarrie ChildsLee DouglasKay Vaughan Mark Fox Shona Taylor and those who’ve now joined CEC Victoria Elsey CMgr MCMI Kelly Dillon Fiona Headridge

As we evolve in our careers, success and its meaning changes contingent on our roles. As for me, demonstrating my value is success.

At Black Onyx we look to utilise individual skillsets and abilities to achieve our business goals
With many of our team members being veterans, career long police detectives or members of the prison service, all individuals arrive with their own unique experiences and experiences - They also have their own personal transferable skills.
Transferable skills are all the skills that you take with you from one job to another.
Such skills include the ability to clearly communicate ideas to others, solve unexpected problems, or work well in a team.
Other skills include:
• Critical thinking
Critical thinking is the ability to evaluate, synthesize, and analyze information in an objective manner in order to produce an original insight or judgement. Individuals who are critical thinkers will often prompt themselves and others to think more deeply about an issue, ensuring that a product, idea, or policy is thoroughly conceptualized.
• Problem solving
Problem solving is the ability to find solutions to complex or difficult issues. A person who is a skilled problem solver is likely good at identifying the underlying reasons a problem exists and then executing a plan to resolve it.
• Adaptability
Adaptability is the ability to quickly adjust to new situations. A person who is adaptable is not only comfortable entering unfamiliar environments and facing new challenges, but also often succeeds in such situations.
• Teamwork
Teamwork is the ability to work well with others and put the good of the project ahead of personal interest. A person who is good at teamwork is capable of supporting teammates, motivating others, and both giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Attention to detail (My personal favourite)
Attention to detail is the ability to assure the quality of the finer aspects of a project. An individual who exhibits a refined attention to detail is able to focus on the minute—though crucial—aspects of a project or product that many others may overlook.
As a company, we aim to continually improve our product. If you are interested in becoming part of the team, please feel free to contact us.
