Today I had the opportunity to attend the Intern Marquee Event talking place at The Ridge. I had so much fun and enjoyed all the activities that Verizon had planed for us, like building some solar, and wind cars for the local Boys & Girls Club, and definitely the Mock Family Feud Game show with the best game show host you could ask for. So I’d like to give my thanks to those who made the experience so much fun like Raleigh Layne, MHRM , Liz Langemak, PhD , Cedric Richardson, and so many more VTeamers you can think of. Thank you for making such a wonderful event! 🎊 This event also happens to mark my half way point through my intership this summer! This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I'd love to highlight some key experiences and what I’ve learned: 1️⃣Having an open mind. Navigating the field outside of my major of study has been a significant learning experience. I've tackled it by asking questions, seeking additional material, and keeping an open mind. Just because your doing something outside of your comfort zone doesn’t mean it wouldn’t help you grow! 2️⃣Networking. Actively participating in my workplace, at events, joining ergs, and talking to people looking for guidance. Make it a goal to form meaningful connections with colleagues and interns moving pass surface level relationships like a simple follow and connect. Some great advice I received from my manger is that you never know who can help you down the line. So always help and form deeper connections with others. Furthermore always give back, Freshmens or other Interns have reached out for advice and it is something I’ve been happily able to share. 💙 3️⃣Testing your Limits. Working isn’t always about doing the most. It’s about communicating to yourself and those around you what you can get done. Never admit to being able to do something your not capable of doing, instead find out what your best at doing and polish that out, and bring that to the table. Overall I am incredibly grateful for the support and opportunities provided by my team and the company. Being part of this summer cohort has been an amazing and a fulfilling experience so far. I'm looking forward to the remaining weeks and continuing to learn and grow! 🙌 #professionalgrowth #networking #summerinternship #VTeamer

Are there field internship opportunities for field work. Verizon used to hire college kids for the summer for field work years ago. There is a lot to learn out here where the physical equipment is.

Sounds like a lot of fun and information at the same time. How long does the internship last?
