It's been nearly two months since first stepping into Google! It has been quite an adventure to say the least. Apart from navigating around the office and discovering the best MKs (micro kitchens) 😋, I've also been immersing myself in all things apps and empowering app developers with tools and strategies for profitable growth. Also, a special shoutout to my manager Saad Hamid and everyone on the team that has been so ready to offer help and advice❤️ While diving into new experiences can feel slightly overwhelming at times, here are the things that have helped me along the way: ✏️ Breaking down tasks or information into smaller, manageable chunks makes daunting tasks feel less intimidating and more achievable. 🧘♀️ Taking mindful breaks! Being overwhelmed clouds your thinking, so I like to take deep breaths to bring myself back to the current moment. You’re more likely to return to the challenge with a fresh perspective after. 📓Prioritization is something that continues to be important to me. Organizing to-do list’s by ranking tasks from urgent to less urgent ensures that critical tasks are addressed promptly while maintaining flexibility for less pressing ones. I’m so excited to see what the months ahead have in store 🚀🚀

One of the first times I took a pencil to design, I imagined the many ways my work could reach the world. I pondered the possibility of getting my designs into people's hands, which drove me to do some research. 📍 Delighted to share a special moment in my journey with Google Maps! 🗺️ 📧 On an ordinary day, while going through my emails, I stumbled upon something quite extraordinary - an email from Google Maps! Intrigued, I opened it, only to discover that I had been rewarded for my contributions to Google Maps . 🌍 🎉 The email contained a link to a form, and I eagerly filled it out. Little did I know, this would lead to an unexpected surprise. The Google Maps team promised my reward within 5-6 weeks, and true to their word, it arrived even sooner than expected, in just 4-5 weeks! 🏆 📍 The reward itself might seem modest - a small pin and a heartfelt letter expressing their gratitude for my contributions. Yet, the real value lies in the recognition from Google , a company that has revolutionized how we navigate the world around us. 📌 💡 This experience has truly motivated me to continue contributing to Google Maps in various ways, whether it's sharing pictures or adding valuable information. After nearly 10 (!) years, I left Google last Monday! I'm taking a few weeks off to recharge and learn before beginning a new adventure (more to come in a month). Below is from a note I sent my coworkers --------------- I’ve been reflecting on chapters from the past decade: - Joining the nascent Next Billion Users team as an APM out of school and getting a whirlwind tour of how people use phones all around the world - Working on the Chrome team for my APM2 rotation and receiving a master’s degree on platform economics - Fulfilling a decade long dream and starting a business (Piggybank, a personal finance app) in Area 120… and completely failing to get any traction - Trying Area 120 again… this time in gaming. Testing various ideas over 2 years before getting traction with GameSnacks and scaling it to 30M+ people - Graduating GameSnacks to Ads and learning how publishers on the open web make money - Joining Labs to build new generative AI products and exploring changes to how software and media are made What stands out is two things: (1) the breadth of diverse experiences I’m privileged to have had that feel uniquely possible at Google and (2) despite omitting names, the thousands of peers, team members, partners, and mentors from many walks of life who’ve taught me so much about products, technology, business, organizations, and people. I can’t imagine a better place to have started my career, and I’ll miss you all and this place quite dearly. Leaving is bittersweet. Please don't be a stranger and please reach out.
