If you're managing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and using a CPAP machine, it's crucial to understand the gravity of the FDA's findings concerning CPAP device recalls initiated in 2021 and ongoing. Here are alarming excerpts directly from the FDA's Medical Device Reports (MDRs): "Since April 2021, the FDA has received over 116,000 MDRs, including 561 death reports, linked to the breakdown of PE-PUR foam or suspected foam breakdown." "These MDRs have detailed a spectrum of injuries, ranging from cancer and pneumonia to headaches and difficulty breathing. Both mandatory reports from manufacturers like Philips and voluntary submissions from healthcare professionals and patients are included." Imagine relying on a CPAP machine every night, trusting it as a life-saving necessity for your serious OSA, only to discover that this very device might be compromising your health or even threatening your life with severe complications such as cancer or respiratory issues. This revelation underscores why the FDA has intervened and why countless adult OSA patients are now questioning whom to trust and where to turn for safe and effective treatments. If you are currently using a CPAP machine, or have recently been diagnosed with OSA, it is imperative to stay informed about all the treatment alternatives available to you. Don’t hesitate to ask your healthcare provider about Vivos CARE appliances, which have been cleared to treat mild to severe OSA. These innovative devices offer a potential alternative to traditional CPAP therapy for adults aiming to address the root causes of sleep apnea without the risks associated with recalled CPAP units. Your health and peace of mind are paramount. Explore all possibilities to ensure your safety and well-being.

Enhancing Sleep and Life Quality in Memory-Impaired Without Drugs Link: https://lnkd.in/e76p7r2V A groundbreaking study from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing (Penn Nursing), recently published in Innovation in Aging, has shown promising results in improving the quality of life (QOL) and sleep quality in individuals living with memory problems. The research delves into the efficacy of a nonpharmacological approach in a trial known as the Healthy Patterns Sleep Program. "The results from this study provide fundamental new knowledge regarding the effects of timing activity participation and can lead to structured, replicable treatment protocols to address sleep disturbances," said Hodgson. "Overall, the Healthy Patterns program resulted in improved QOL compared to an attention-control group." The findings also indicate that, compared to a control group, the four-week Healthy Patterns program improved sleep quality among persons living with memory issues who had depressive symptoms or poor sleep quality. The study indicates the Healthy Patterns Intervention might need a longer dose to induce improvements in other sleep-wake activity metrics. The study, "Timed Activity to Minimize Sleep Disturbance in People With Cognitive Impairment, is available online. Its significance lies in its confirmation of the effectiveness of behavioral interventions in not only improving quality of life and addressing sleep quality issues in this population, but also potentially reducing care partner burden and overall care costs for persons living at home with memory problems. #research #sleep #sleep2024 #sleephealth #sleepwake #health #healthcare #hme #sleepapnea #cpap #osa #qualityoflife
