The cheapest way to heat up food is using your microwave.🍽️ These cost less money to run as they are on for less time than an oven and only heat the food, not the air around them.🕐 It is estimated that microwaving a jacket potato often costs 25% less of what it would cost compared to oven-cooking one.💰 #Costoflivingtips

On track for a great day out! One of our domiciliary care service users had a rail-ly (we'll stop now) fun day with their support worker going on a steam engine replica. Our care and support teams help people do things that they may not feel confident doing on their own.

Today at our "This is Us" programme, we had the joy of welcoming Prancer the Alpaca! 🦙💖 Participants, including Alan Caddick from Trident Group, loved interacting with him. Alpacas offer incredible mental health benefits—reducing anxiety, lowering blood pressure, and boosting mood! Their calming presence brought smiles all around. 😃 What a wonderful, heartwarming day for our team at Deelands! 🌟 #AlpacaTherapy #MentalHealthMatters

We are really proud that our Rough Sleepers Outreach Lead, Azad Azam, presented yesterday at National Housing Federation's National Housing Summit. Collaboration is key to ensuring that housing and supported services can put the needs of the resident or service user at the centre. Our homeless services success over the past few years is directly linked to it. Thanks Azad for sharing your knowledge with the wider sector. #knowledgesharing #collaboration
Today at the National Housing Summit in Liverpool, I had the honor of joining two fellow guest speakers Ailish Whitehouse and Samantha Dorsey-Smith to discuss the complexities of rough sleeping and the urgent need for multi-agency collaboration to address this critical issue. The “silent disco” approach and set up with headsets to each speaker slot threw me a little but the conversation centered around our pathways in our cities, emphasising that it requires more than just housing solutions—it demands a holistic approach. We highlighted the importance of partnership work to tackle the deep-rooted factors contributing to rough sleeping, such as health, mental health challenges, addiction, and a lack of joined up integrated support services. During the discussion, we explored the positive impact of collaboration like the Rough Sleeping Initiative (RSI), Rough Sleepers Outreach, Housing First, and RSAP in Birmingham, which serve as prime examples of how joint efforts can create lasting change. Key partnerships with organisations like SIFA Fireside, St Basils, Change Grow Live, Health exchange, Cranstoun, Spring Housing Association Limited. DWP, BVSC, Birmingham City Council and of course Trident Group – UK have been instrumental in these successes, proving that only by working together can we deliver meaningful outcomes. Today’s summit reinforced the idea that it is through unified, strategic action that we can truly make strides toward ending rough sleeping.

We wish to send out our heartfelt sorrow to all the victims and their families on the tragedy that occurred at Grenfell Tower in 2017. We support the National Housing Federation in their efforts to ensure that nothing like this could happen again. Everyone should be confident that they live in safe, decent homes and that there concerns are listened to and acted on. The outcome of the inquiry should be an opportunity for justice and for change. https://lnkd.in/eSukpPf8
