My second software job I'd been there for about 6 months when we got the news "this wizard of a frontend dev is going to be joining our team" As a junior with less than a year of experience, I looked to his arrival like the second coming of Jesus. When he got to our team, I looked through all of his PRs. They were usually large, the code was clean, and the features he implemented worked smoothly. I'd occasionally go to him with questions and he'd give me feedback, suggestions, etc. There are two things he said that have stuck with me "if you want to increase your coding skills rapidly, try coding for a month without using any 'if' statements in your code." I tried it for a couple days and it's tough. And in that time I found other ways of doing things that have stuck with me to this day. The other thing he said was "some devs use the array.push method a lot for no apparent reason. Luke, you seem like a big 'pusher' to me" and now I avoid using array.push as much as possible. Array.map array.filter and array.forEach have taken it's place and it feels cleaner to me. What are some interactions with other devs that have stayed with you ... in a good way :) #software #juniordeveloper

Business Development at RapidZapp ☑️ Custom software solutions for businesses too big (or bold) to fit into off-the-shelf solutions ☑️ The Branding Stylist ☑️ Nonprofit Founder ☑️
It's easy to be impressed when you hear about a company with a large team. But at RapidZapp we keep out team really lean. Why? We'd rather hire one senior, brillaint developer to build your prouduct over three junior devs who step on each other's toes and drag out a project. Hiring fewer higher caliber developers means that we avoid the miscommunication, confusion and disagreements that often comes from having several people work on the same code base. We find that less is more. Do you believe in smaller, tighter teams or go the more-is-merrier route?

I serve as the glue between business and technology ✅ 7 YOE as technical project / program manager • handled 12 enterprise software implementations in $20M portfolio • helped stand up a Program Management Office
When I was hired into an experimental no-code software developer team, we realized little was written about how a group of no-coders operate together day-to-day. Without the guidance of best-practices, we had a heck of a time trying various things (with varying levels of success). Let’s reflect on a few areas, and hopefully this helps a new no-code department set up some scaffolding for productivity: - Areas of responsibility: frontend, backend, custom code, team lead. - Tech stack: Bubble, Make, custom code. - Collaborating with each other: branching, merge process, work distribution. - Collaborating with custom-code devs: examples of requests we made. - Cons of speed: erroneous features, quantum utility. #nocode
