KING OF CSO This weekend it will be #King's Day in the Netherlands. An occasion to spotlight the King of CSO for once: Dennis Wijnstra Travelling all the way from the far north of the Netherlands, we had Dennis visiting us during our induction days. Alongside the regular team of Bente van den Bomen Peter Gronenschild Jordy Verdaasdonk Vaia Mesitsa Killian Nally Andreas Amukugo and, of course, our LP toppers Annemiek Verstegen Vincent Jansen Yanir Francisca en Robert Spitse, Dennis was present to tell a bit more about his work at The TJX Companies, Inc., Inc. Central Store Operations (CSO). In 2016, Dennis started his retail career at TK MAXX as a Teamleader in #Groningen, under the inspiring leadership of Henk van der Spek. (today lead by amazing Hayley Gauna) He was then promoted to Assistant Store Manager and worked in the Almere and Arnhem shops. Eventually, he moved to a position in CSO. In this role, he is the business partner for all digital communications for our TJX Europe shops. The CSO Helpdesk is also one of his responsibilities. What exactly does that all mean? In a nutshell: If a department within TJX wants to communicate something via our Internal Associate Engagement App, this department tries to make that possible. I personally find this app a great medium, as it keeps me informed of all the fun things happening in the shop, such as parties, promotions and holidays. And there are quite a few of them. CSO s is the heart of all (digital) communication. This is also where all questions are answered as proactively as possible, everything you need to know on how to operate in a store. That is why it's important everyone has the app. Now, we recently hired a lot of new colleagues. That's why Dennis came especially to the south of the country, for a nice presentation and also to personally activate everyone in the system as part of our introduction day. Dennis had never done anything other than retail before, and was keen to know what else was behind this huge organisation. The opportunity at Central Operations gave him access to the operational heart of the organisation, where he was directly involved in implementing changes on the shop floor. For all communication issues and solutions but also operational questions that, for example, the manager cannot answer, Dennis and his team are there to save the day. Dennis is proud to work for TJX Europe: It is fantastic to notice how well we do in creating and maintaining the right working atmosphere. But also the diversity and development opportunities that TJX have are exceptional. It's fantastic to see that in such a large organisation we have a very open door approach, in the sense that everyone is equal, you dare to express your opinion, but above all you dare to be yourself. That is what is essential to us.

Today, let's talk about TJX Companies, which demonstrated one of the best results among the companies that published financial statements last week. TJX published its latest report on February 28. 70% of the revenue structure is made up of manufacturing costs and 30% of gross revenue. Over the past quarter, the company made a profit of $1.4B. And its market capitalization is now $112B. TJX Companies is a discount retailer of clothing and accessories from Fortune 100. The company has almost 5K stores, and about 75% of its revenue comes from the United States. TJX Companies operates in the specialty retail industry. It was founded in 1987. In 1989, it went public on the NYSE and in 1996 was included in the S&P 500 index. For the past 8 years, the company has been headed by Ernie Herrman and a team of experienced managers. The main competitors of TJX Companies are Home Depot, Ross Stores and Best Buy. As you can see from the table above, some of them are ahead of TJX Companies in terms of capitalization, but the company has a number of competitive advantages. The strengths of TJX Companies are based on a wide range of products. The company has 21K partners and sells their goods at a discount of 20-60%. Due to this, over the past decade, TJX has opened an average of 173 new stores annually, which is an increase of 4.4% per year. Over the past three months, TJX Companies stock has risen by +11%. At the same time, the Consumer Discretionary sector, to which the company belongs, also grew by +11%, and the S&P 500 index by +12%. As you can see, TJX Companies shares show the same dynamics as the sector, but do not outperform the index. https://lnkd.in/dbdWDPH6

What to look out for when shopping the high street. Check out my finds in M&S and go watch the video! And here are the 6 questions to ask yourself when you buy from the high street. 1. Am I saying ‘it’ll do’, if so walk away. 2. Does it get me excited, bring something new or elevated to my wardrobe? 3. Would I pay twice the price for it? 4. Do I feel amazed that I am buying it from here and not a more expensive store? 5. When I put it on do I hold my head up high and feel proud to wear it or is there a niggling feeling that I could do better? 6. How does it feel against my skin? This past summer we where awarded a lot of Kohls stores through a national contractor to perform lot marking and signage across the Midwest. Are prices to them seemed fair, I can’t imagine what they charged for no skin in the game. Took forever to pay and we the self performing contractor took all the risk. I will never work for that contractor again. Kohl's we make you look good CESO, INC. We would love to work direct. We have the capabilities to do so. Jordan Raddant please reach out to the contractor who perform your work. 708.514.2676 or Michael@blackhawkpaving.com. Collin Ryan

Thanks LIVERPOOL LOS ANGELES for a great two days together! Getting to see the beautiful new seasonal line that the store owners are going to be able to offer their customers was so fun. Coaching them to stay in budget might be a problem 😄 ...Coming together though gave me 4 other wonderful things to celebrate: 1. Promotions-loved getting to acknowledge Otaner King Garcia well deserved promotion. 2. New friends-loved getting to meet those that joined the family this year. 3. Special moments-loved getting to wish Filomena Happy Birthday in person. 4. Learning-loved in person learning from and appreciation of the complexity of the team. When you come together in person there is energy that can’t be replicated in the virtual work world…doesn’t have to be one or the other but for me the balance is important. Vegas in 2 weeks at 110 degrees my opinion might be different 😉. Today I’ll take coming together for the win.

What did Stephen learn this week? This week I learned that a brand can live on after the physical company is gone. I’ve had a series of posts on Tuesdays that are reflections on my career. A couple of weeks ago the spotlight was on Sears Canada. The result, 6000 impressions, countless likes, shares and comments. In fact the post is still getting some love. Why? Because the Sears Canada brand lives on! Long after they left Canada. A powerful reminder that a brand is strong and can live past the company that called it their own. What did you learn this week? #brandpower #sears #reflections #whatdidilearnthisweek

Dear Valued Clients and teammates, As RDTS joyfully marks its 30th year in business, we extend our deepest appreciation to you for your enduring trust and support. Since our foundation in 1994, your partnership has been the bedrock of our success. At RDTS, our investment in people has been a guiding principle, providing opportunities for growth and development. Today, we proudly stand as the best sales and merchandising company in Canada, bringing together a stellar field force and cutting-edge technology. This milestone achievement, from the creation of the Imagine merchandising program in Canada and Europe with major retailers to our ongoing success, is a testament to the collaborative spirit we always share. None of this would have been possible without the trust and commitment of our dear clients and dedicated employees. As I reflect on our journey, many may have thought RDTS wouldn't make it to the next round several times. However, in the immortal words of Rocky Balboa, "It ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. Resilience, commitment, continuous learning always believe and dream with objectives and hard work have been the driving force behind our ability to overcome challenges and keep progressing. Together, we've shown that setbacks are just setups for comebacks. We thank you for being an integral part of our journey and your unwavering dedication. Let’s continue moving forward, overcoming obstacles and achieving new heights in the coming year! Here's to three decades of shared success and to the exciting future ahead! “As my father said many times: “Our roots are strong, but our commitment is stronger” With appreciation, Robert Di Tomasso #gratitude #retailsolutions #employeerecognition #rdts #merchandising #retail #salesagent #fieldservices #clientappreciation #partnership #imagine #imaginemerchandising #thirdpartylogistics
