Career Transition Coach | Master Certified Professional Coach | Global Head of Talent | 10 years recruiting experience scaling for high growth tech companies
I moved to England without a job and a visa, and landed both within one month. Friends back home were baffled, telling me this doesn’t just “happen” to anyone. For me it did. Am I special? No. But I trusted my inner guidance and was clear on my next steps. I was confident in my prior recruiting experience and skills. AND, I knew how to present myself to my future boss, that made it extremely obvious that I was perfectly aligned for the position 💃🏼 Why am I sharing this? Because, if you’re navigating a job search, you’ll have an advantage by being clear and confident on your prior skills and your unique value-add. Knowing how to “repackage” yourself will help you stand out to hiring managers as an obvious fit to your new role. Great, Rebecca. But HOW do I do this? Here’s some tips: 💎 Get clarity on skills you want to translate 💎 Know your “why” (keeps you focused & motivated) 💎 Showcase said skills & why on resume & LI 💎 Create a personal brand statement - start sharing/ talking! (IRL & online) You're totally got this 💛 I believe in you 💛 You’re so loved and supported 💛 ____________________________________ PS. I’m hosting a free masterclass next week, going in much more depth on how to brand yourself for a career shift. You’ll learn: 🔥 How to create more freedom in your life 🔥 How to translate your skills to a role that brings you more joy 🔥 How to tell your story, so that you align with your desired new role It’s going to be fun and I hope to see you there! Career Paths vs. Career Portfolios...I have a clear bias because of my own "wandering path", but I think the notion of assembling all of the defining experiences in your life into a portfolio of skills that inform your narrative makes a lot of sense.
Why You Should Build a “Career Portfolio” (Not a “Career Path”)
