Ten transformative technologies in mobility. The ten technology advances from the McKinsey Technology Trends Outlook 2023 report1 most relevant to mobility are as follows: 1. advanced connectivity, which refers to wireless and low-power networks, fifth- and sixth-generation cellular networks, Wi-Fi 6 and 7, low-Earth-orbit satellites, and other tech that support a host of digital solutions; it can improve productivity across industries 2. applied AI, which involves using models trained in machine learning to solve classification, prediction, and control problems; the models can help add or augment capabilities and offerings, automate activities, and make better decisions 3. cloud and edge computing, which allow distribution of workloads across locations, such as hyperscale and remote data centers, regional centers, and local nodes; these technologies can help improve adherence to data sovereignty regulations, autonomy over data, data transfer costs, latency, and security 4. generative AI, which can automate, augment, and accelerate work by tapping into unstructured, mixed-modality data sets to enable the creation of new content in various forms, such as code, text, and video 5. immersive-reality tech, which uses sensing tech and spatial computing to help users see the world through augmented, mixed, and virtual reality 6. industrialized machine learning, which refers to an ecosystem of software and hardware solutions that help accelerate and derisk the development, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning solutions 7. next-generation software development, which enables modern code deployment pipelines and automated code generation, testing, refactoring, and translation 8. quantum tech, which is still in relatively early development but could provide an exponential increase in computational performance for certain problems and transform communication networks by making them more secure 9. trust architectures and digital identity tools, which allow organizations to build and scale their data and digital-enabled products and services, as well as maintain the trust of their stakeholders 10. Web3, which is a new type of decentralized internet that has open standards and protocols and simultaneously protects digital-ownership rights; its potential applications include decentralized mobility platforms on which individual users can book travel with various providers for a single trip https://lnkd.in/dvyHEisu

Lots of FUD running around AI, and I get it, it is has the potential to be a very disruptive/transformational technology, especially with GenAI. So I've been working on some messaging to make it more relatable and understandable. Here is my current analogy: Think of GenAI as a digital assembly line staffed by digital robotics creating digital content. These digital robots work tirelessly to produce digital artifacts. But here’s the real innovation: even the creation of these digital robots—the ones working the assembly lines—is carried out by other digital robots. It’s a self-replicating cycle of creativity and innovation. GenAI is essentially a major evolution of the Assembly Line. Assembly Lines were the core innovation of the 2nd Industrial Revolution, where we learned to harness the power of Assembly Lines to enhance the production of physical items. These assembly lines allowed us to achieve greater Efficiency and Quality in the manufacturing process. The 3rd Industrial Revolution was the era of adding Robotic-based Automation to Assembly Lines in the early 70’s. The 4th Industrial is all about taking the practices of the 2nd and 3rd Industrial Revolutions and applying them to the creation of Digital Items. GenAI is revolutionizing the creation of digital content. It’s like having an entire factory of AI-powered robots churning out stories, images, and more. #genai #ai #iwork4dell

Simplifai hosts ministers as they unveil key technology policy roadmap. Simplifai hosted Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre and Digitization and Administration Minister Karianne Tung as they discussed a new policy roadmap that will help the technology industry point the way for innovation and value creation. The technology industry, marked by “deep” technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, robotics and quantum systems, represent a new wave of innovation with many opportunities for both society and business. “The initiative is a response to the growing attention to deep technologies and the potential it has for value creation. With this roadmap, we will be able to more easily utilize the opportunities that new technology provides, to solve major challenges and create new jobs, while at the same time framing its use for the good of society,” says Minister for Digitalization and Administration Karianne Tung “When we have the completed road map, we will have a good picture of what the industry needs in terms of framework conditions and expertise to be able to use advanced technology, with a particularly large potential for innovation, value creation and societal benefit,” says Minister for Industry Jan Christian Vestre. Simplifai joins a critical group of companies providing input into the plan, including Abelia, NHO, and others. “This is a great initiative that will hopefully adopt appropriate regulations for rapidly evolving technology such as AI. We applaud this initiative from Ministers Vestre and Tung, and we look forward to contribute to the process ahead, “ said Bård Myrstad, Simplifai CEO.
