👩💻 Meet Yogini Kanakala! At TV2Z, I began my journey as a software engineer focusing primarily on frontend web development using Angular. Currently, my interest and skills are in backend technologies and data analytics. This led to a seamless transition into backend development, where I worked in Node.js. What I find most fulfilling about my role at TV2Z is the opportunity to be a part of different teams and guidance to empower me to take ownership of challenges, accountability and continuous growth. The entertainment and media industry is an ever-growing industry. As time goes on, the content types and how we consume content will constantly change. Working in the media domain helps us understand consumers and what we as a business can develop for the customers. I find it rewarding to understand customer needs and having the chance to implement them in our products. The growth in the media industry is taking rapidly growing in the same way we are growing our company to withstand all the twists and turns. We do this by developing different solutions and technologies for Metrological set-top boxes, Roku and Ziggo platforms, and by filling market gaps and increasing the market shares where we had competition and keeping up with industry trends, making the company walk forward steadily. By creating our TV2Z brand values and participating in hackathons and global events, we are showing the world how reliable TV2Z is. #TV2Z #Employee #OTT #softwareengineer #womaninstem #womanintech

DevOps Insights from a Music Producer's Journey 🎧➡️💻 My transition from music production to DevOps has been a journey of unique challenges and insights. Here are a few essential lessons learned: Collaboration - The essence of producing music and excelling in DevOps lies in effective collaboration. Cross-functional teamwork is crucial for orchestrating successful software delivery. The Power of Iteration - Both fields thrive on continuous refinement. In DevOps, the practice of CI/CD mirrors the iterative process of music production, driving enhancements in performance, security, and satisfaction. Embrace Adaptability - The ability to adapt to new genres and technologies in music parallels DevOp's need for versatility in adopting new tools and practices, ensuring alignment with evolving industry trends. Value Feedback - Just as feedback shapes a musical piece, it is vital in DevOps to refine applications to meet user expectations and needs effectively. Innovate Creatively - At the heart of music production is the drive for creativity, a principle that also propels DevOps teams to innovate, automate, and find new solutions to complex challenges. Conclusion: My journey from mixing tracks to merging code helped me to spotlight a universal beat: collaboration, iteration, adaptability, feedback, and creativity are not just the rhythm of music production but the heartbeat of DevOp's philosophy. if your DevOps team is lacking that 1 note to make harmony, let's talk #DevOps #MusicProduction #Innovation #Collaboration

Hello everyone! 👋 First, I’m thrilled by the incredibly supportive response to my initial LinkedIn post from last week. While I am aware that I likely have a challenging journey ahead, it felt incredibly validating to see your reactions and positive responses to my news. Now, onto business. As I mentioned previously, I’m on the hunt for a technical co-founder, a role critical to our venture’s success. Following some insightful discussions, I want to clearly outline what I envision for this position: 💻 Expert Engineering Skills: This is a given. I’m seeking a co-founder with a strong command over contemporary and emerging technologies, especially in generative AI. The initial product milestone will involve building an MVP, so this person must be proficient enough to code a fully working app independently. 💡 Product Development Insight: I need a partner who’s not afraid to challenge my ideas—a collaborator who can discern the feasibility of ideas from both an engineering and product perspective. Open, constructive debates are welcome; let’s innovate together. 🌱 Eagerness to Learn and Grow: In the fast-evolving tech landscape, the willingness to learn is invaluable. I’m looking for someone who’s not only ambitious about personal growth but also eager to scale with the company. 🥋 Leadership and Team-Building: Beyond technical prowess, the ability to lead is paramount. This includes hiring, mentoring, and efficiently managing the team to foster growth and innovation. 🔊 A Passion for Music: The essence of our project lies in music. It’s essential that my technical co-founder shares a profound appreciation and respect for music and its creators. For more info on what I’m looking for, here’s a job posting I have written up: https://lnkd.in/gH8WkGXf If this resonates with you, or you know someone perfectly suited for this role, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s connect and explore the possibility of helping evolve the craft of songwriting!

I help founders bootstrap technical products & teams | Former: Head of Tech @Baton Technologies, Head of Technical Operations @Behance
I’ve been working in tech for over 17 years — and I’ve gathered my fair share of useful business and life advice. If you understand these while starting out in tech, you’ll be miles ahead of where I first started years ago. I’ll start with 3 big lessons I’ve learned from my career: 1) Get your hands dirty as soon as you can I joined Behance in 2007 as the second engineer. I ended up working there for 10 years, taking on a broad variety of technical work. One of the most enjoyable parts of my time there was building 9 different products completely from scratch. Every single one of those products was an opportunity to start with a completely blank slate, iterate, keep what worked, and remove what didn’t until you had a stellar product. It was there that I learned: - How much I enjoyed taking things from zero to one - How much I enjoyed managing operations and product development Those realizations are what kept me engaged and learning at the same organization for nearly 10 years. The lesson there: create! Get your hands dirty as soon as you can. It’s the quickest way to identify what you enjoy and don’t enjoy doing. So my advice to folks starting their careers: optimize for roles that have lots of different opportunities to learn! 2) Build solutions that match the problem — and sometimes, bad news can turn into good news In 2017, I started building Opus, which was a portfolio site for musicians that could also assist them with booking live performances at smaller venues. It was a way for musicians to be found and get booked without having to physically meet and network with venue managers constantly. When we started, we were confident we were onto something. But when we talked to potential customers, we learned something earth-shattering: most of the folks who were booking at smaller venues weren’t using booking tech. They were working on flip phones and Rolodexes. They weren’t interested in Opus at all. Not long after, we ended up winding down Opus. Occasionally, I would have moments of regret: should we have tried for longer? And then COVID happened. I saw the live music scene completely crash. All of a sudden, I was relieved we shuttered Opus. The lesson here: always make sure your solution matches the problem customers actually have. 3) Work with dedicated, involved founders I once worked at a startup where I noticed — and ignored — a lot of red flags. One big red flag was that one of the co-founders: - Wasn’t involved full-time. - Wasn’t building or selling. These are things every co-founder is expected to do. If they’re not involved in the day-to-day somehow, then what are they doing? The lesson there: if you work at a company where one or more co-founders aren’t involved full-time and/or aren’t either building or selling, leave as soon as you can.

With layoffs happening, it's important to build connections outside of work. Here's how: 1. Join fitness classes like Pilates or yoga regularly to meet familiar faces. 2. Explore art or music classes for a new hobby. 3. Participate in local book clubs. 4. Attend diverse meetups/events of personal interest. 5. Engage in advocacy groups supporting causes you care about. 6. Volunteer consistently to forge connections and friendships. Our identity isn't solely tied to work—community exists beyond our jobs.
Spotify laid off 1,500+ employees, 17% of the company. If you’re a music or entertainment company that’s hiring, drop your open roles below in the replies so people can find them.

🚀 𝗨𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝘃𝗮: 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! In the competitive world of tech, optimizing efficiency is crucial. Have you ever wondered how companies like Spotify manage to deliver uninterrupted music streaming to millions of users at the same time? 🎧 The key lies in multithreading! 🧵 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? Multithreading in Java allows multiple threads, or lightweight processes, to run concurrently within a single application. This enables your app to handle complex operations like processing data, managing files, and updating the user interface all at once! 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? 🤔 1. 𝙀𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚: By leveraging multiple threads, your application can maximize CPU usage, leading to faster processing times. 2. 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨: Multithreading ensures your applications remain responsive, even during resource-intensive tasks. Imagine a user interface that never freezes! 3. 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮: As your application grows, multithreading helps you scale effectively by distributing workloads across different threads. Take 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆, for example. This popular music streaming service relies on multithreading to deliver a seamless experience to its users. Whether you’re searching for songs, streaming music, or exploring new playlists, Spotify’s backend processes numerous tasks simultaneously. This ensures a smooth, uninterrupted experience, no matter how many users are online! 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘀: • 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨 & 𝙍𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚: The foundation of multithreading in Java. These allow you to create and start threads within your application. • 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: Critical for thread safety when multiple threads access shared resources. • 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚: A higher-level API that simplifies thread management, making it easier to handle complex scenarios. #Java #Multithreading #Concurrency #SoftwareDevelopment #JavaProgramming #Spotify
